While a lot of mammals enjoy grooming behavior, reptiles are not known to - especially snakes. A lot of times people wrongly associate human-like behaviors (like a lizard closing their eyes) with contentment/satisfaction even when it means something totally different (annoyance).

In the case of snakes, the best you can likely get is them not being stressed by it. A very well-socialized snake (like this one) won't be headshy or mind handling in general. But it's very doubtful that it likes it in the way a dog or cat can feel.

Yeah, reptiles will instinctively close their eyes to protect them when we pet their head heads. We’re projecting mammalian behaviors onto them
