Heroes
I wonder if there is indeed a secret Stargate program and if we’ll ever get to see that real documentary
And that slight quiver in his voice around the part when he says “they deserve more.. this is something more…” still gets me

"Sateda"
I hadn't done a complete SGA rewatch in quite some time. I focused this time on the episodes I had missed or glossed over previously. Just finished S3 Ep #4 "Sateda"; and holy smokes this episode was a standout.
Aside from the shared themes of guilt, trauma, and relationships, the visual style and overall tone seem so different than most of the SG franchise barring SGU. It was dark, gritty, serious, and lacked any sort of real cringe that was at least a little present in much of the franchise. They really didn't hold back, the emotional presence of everyone involved was intense. It kind of reminded me of Heroes Part 1 and 2 from SG-1, which id consider the best of the series. Also of course looked pretty expensive which isn't surprising.
But, unlike SGU it still had that aura of positivity snd sci-fi wonder, which really made it work at the end of the day.
I'd love to see more episodes like this in a future SG series (please MGM).

Ask r/Stargate Why doesn't Colonel Simmons wear a uniform?
Colonel Maybourne, in addition to being head of NID, was an officer in the USAF and wore a uniform.
Colonel Simmons, his successor, wears a suit and specifically refers to NID as a civilian agency.
So, if he's a Colonel, why doesn't he wear a uniform? If he's a civilian, why is he addressed as Colonel?

Asgard replicators?
If they seek out a take over advanced tech. How did the originate in the milkyway galaxy? I know the Asgard inhabit their own galaxy. SG-1 found the android Reese in the milkyway. The only thing I can this of is that the civilization that created Reese had some info on the Asgard home galaxy and the replicators made a bee line to that galaxy. Aside from that i don't see how they didn't take over the Milkyway much sooner than season 8

Fan-Made Gateship inside is starting to taking shape! A question though...
Hi everyone,
The gateship inside is starting to taking shape!
I've updated every proportions of the ship with set references and episodes screenshots, but something feels off, like something is offscale inside. Any idea what?
Thanks in advance !

What are you watching between rewatches
At least once a year I rewatch the SG franchise in chronological order and the end of SGA always feels so sudden and such a letdown as well as SGU. And now that it's over I can't find a sci-fi series to burn through. Farsacape is alright and has charm in how campy it is. Andromeda is practically unwatchable. Warehouse 13 feels way too much like a classic cop drama but I know I need to get past season 1 to really enjoy it again.
Wondering if people have any recommendations on a place holder or two for SG?

REWATCH This scene always goes hard. Spoiler
Thor bitch slapping Kinsey is always worth it on the rewatch.
“It is the opinion of the Asgard high council that the Stargate command should remain in the very capable hands of General Hammond and his team, and while our continued friendship isn’t contingent upon that, it is preferred”

Discussion Apparently, there ideas of Thor having slice of life moments with the rest SG-1 crew, but it never happened due budget reasons.

Thoughts? Why Corin Nemec's Jonas Quinn Left Stargate SG-1 So Quickly
Stargate SG-1" casting was a happy accident, revealing that he happened to be at production company MGM auditioning for another project when he bumped into the "SG-1" casting directors. "From there it was a miracle"

Fan-Made I designed and 3D printed a case for my speaker amplifier in the style of the Ancients tech
I had some old bookshelf speakers lying around, so when I saw my local electronics shop selling a small aplifier module for those kinds of speakers, I decided to upgrade my PC's sound system with. As a birthday gift I got myself a 3D printer, and to get into it and CAD design, I did a small case for that amplifier module as a design excercise.
As a huge fan of the series, I decied to give it a Lantean look and made it into something straight out of Atlantis. The aplifier board has a included blue LED that shines trough the vent grills I made as seen in picture 3, adding more to the look.
About the writings: I tried making it into actual ancient (sorta), so I looked into Latin dictionaries and then changed the words to sound more Ancient-like. The volume knob says "fragorae" becasue fragor in latin means noise or a crashing sound, the sides say "sonitae" from sonus (which is obviously sound), and the top says "amplificatari" from amplificator.
Last image shows which albus I will use to test out the system. Extra points if you know them both!
Hailings from a mexican fan of the series!

Ask r/Stargate Does Stargate ever address how Michael shanks got progressively more jacked as a series went on?
I was talking to someone recently about Stargate and how both our favorite characters is Daniel Jackson. One of the things that we both liked about the character was how he got progressively more badass the more jacked that the actor got, and he got me wondering if the show ever makes a joke or reference about this development.
