Discussion~ ❗️❗️ MOD POST❗️❗️ The long awaited, updated stretching guide is here!

Hi Friends!

As a lot of you know, we have been working on updating the stretching guide for awhile now. Though it is not perfect, it is definitely a step in the right direction. We are so happy to be able to continue sharing safe and helpful information with all of you.

It has been updated on the sub's page as well as the AutoMod's comments.

It can also be found here: Updated Stretching Guide

Please give it a look and let us know how you're feeling! Also, please remember it will be updated as new information comes along. We created a Google document as opposed to a post to ensure we could keep it as up to date as possible. The previous guide was posted in the sub by a mod that's no longer active, so we couldn't edit it.

Happy stretching!

My collection The downside of upping size, a ton of now useless jewelry.

When I was 20 (now 40, oof) I decided I wanted to start my stretching journey and my goal had always been an inch. I did my initial piercings at a 2 gauge (yes very painful), and all my subsequent stretching with a reputable professional piercer. We took our time and luckily about a year and half later I had beautiful fat healthy lobes still at 7/8. Unfortunately my piercer moved and I just lost steam because I trusted him only. Well after 18 years loving my lobes, but with the inch gold haunting me I decided it was time. I knew my lobes were very loose and 15/16 would feel like a hotdog in a hallway so I got some one inch single flairs and they went in with very little to no resistance, only slight tightness and within a few days it was like nothing happened. So happy I finally hit that 1 inch goal after all these years, but the downside is now I have to build up my jewelry collection again and all the 7/8 jewelry Ive amassed is useless. What do I do with such a big collection? Sell them? Give them away? Would people even want second hand jewelry, is it gross? Opinions please lol

(My picks: Lavender and Copper leaf - $30pair + Seaweed - $20pair) They come in an adorable box with hand tied bows and a thank you letter with little doodles on it.

Seller URL: https://www.ebay.com/str/silversky22?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=clgWDNznTde&sssrc=3418065&ssuid=lBH3vR7zT-K&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Epoxy resin, multiple sizes, soft edges, very comfy, and a ton of options for infill materials.

As the epoxy sets, some particulates sink a bit, giving them a satisfying depth or presenting glory, front and center, depending on which side you're looking at.

Slid right in after being at 12g since January! Does Ehlers Danlos affect septum stretching like it does with ear stretching? Idk but I'm glad it slid in, I don't like pinchers 😅 also downsized my eyebrow piercings finally

convincing someone else to do proper ear care

i don't normally post on reddit, sorry if formatting is weird.

this is a question about how to convince someone to do proper ear care. i will delete this if these types of posts aren't allowed

a sort of friend of mine has been wearing the same acrylic tunnels for months. recently, he's started complaining about a smell from them, along with dryness and irritation. he is also, incredibly stubborn and definitely not the brightest.

he has told me he's not moisturizing at all, and doesn't remove them to at least clean them.

i am not very good friends with him, but i also don't want to watch him have serious problems in the future because of this. does anyone have suggestions on how to convince him to properly care for them?? i know i can just let him figure this out on his own, but that method has not been working for the past few months of this going on. i'm losing my shit

I’m sure people here know how stupid the TikTok stretching community is… I’ve come across many people with stretched lobes on TikTok give the absolute worse advice and whatnot but for real I want to know is this normal? Like genuinely?..

~Advice~ 2g tunnels won’t fit in healed 2g holes??

could use some help here, i stretched to 2g over a month ago. stretched with single flares and was great no resistance. fast forward i’m trying to swap to my trusty Kaos Softwears and they fold in like this (never ever ever happened to me before) and it’s painful like im forcing a stretch. weird so i swap back to single flares and think maybe these flares aren’t actually 6mm? purchase another pair of single flares and put em in no problem. i know there can be some size variations in jewelry but i’ve never had an experience like this what’s going on?

Loads of jojoba oil, moisturizer,dead-stretching, and half-sizes led me here. With a bit of luck on stretchy lobes and fast healing.

My first post here was 6 weeks ago, and I had just healed from having used silicone in an unhealed ear. Did my research, got some jewelry, and set on this journey.

First pic is the 6g tunnel in a pretty upset ear, and last is the 00g that just slid on effortlessly a few hours ago. 0 pain or discomfort on this journey. Know your body, if it doesn't fit, don't force it. Jojoba oil and moisturizer are you best friends.

I will hang out here for a while before potentially making my way to 5/8ths.. i guess I'll see where life takes me

**I don't recommend you do this; this is just how it worked out for me, I got very lucky, it seems.

What Do i Do? NSFW

I’ve been stretching my ears since summer of 2021 and I just got to a double zero in November. I’ve never had any blowouts or problems like that. The transition to double zero was smooth, but I made the mistake of wearing heart shaped acrylic gauges up until about March. I could tell something was wrong with my ear, but it didn’t look too bad so I just put in circle stainless steel. I’ve had those in ever since, but my left ear is really irritated, and when I looked at the back of it today, this is how it looked. I don’t know what to do. This has never happened to me before.

Went from 00 to 12MM four days ago & my ears were extremely irritated. I took my plugs out & it made a huge bloody mess.. I’ve never had this happen while stretching my ears. I’ve been stretching them since 2019. Any advice? What should I do? I’m keeping jewelry out of them at the moment because they’re such a mess right now. 🥲

~Advice~ Little bastard is causing issues. Is this infection or irritation?

Post image

This is my left lobe. The right one failed due to constant infection and refusal to heal. This one was doing fine until around a week ago, when it formed that translucent skin by the metal. I applied saline and jojoba oil, and plan to until it heals. Anything I could do better?

i posted a few weeks ago about getting silicone tunnels for my 00g ears but literally the same day my parents screamed at me for ‘ruining myself’ and basically said if i don’t get rid of it i cannot live with them. extremely frustrating but what can i do so im here to ask what i can do to make the downsizing process even easier and also to ask how long it will take to stretch back up to 00g when i can. thank you everyone!

~Advice~ Can Only Go To 14g Due To Scar Tissue. Ideas?

Upvotes

Begged my father when I was 13 to go and get my ears professionally pierced at a tattoo shop with a larger hollow needle, I had a 100$ budget given to me by my older sister, anddd he took me to Claire’s. You can guess my frustration, I’ve wanted to stretch my ears since I was 8, always have had the same goal size, somewhere around 00g - 14mm but no smaller or bigger.

Thank you JackSepticEye for inspiring me lol.

My lobes now have a lot of scar tissue, back then I had to repierce them over and over with a blunt earring back for them not to close, I can fit a 14g in and I was originally pierced with a 20g, but around the hole it’s hard as a rock and has warped into an elongated crevice. It’s like those blown out lobes posted on here but on a much smaller scale.

Now that it’s been 3 years and I’ve been wanting this for 9 years, would it be possible to get my ears re-pierced or even punched at a larger gauge? The scar tissues width and length is like centimeter, so I’m kind of worried getting it punched is the only option as dead stretching isn’t doable with how rough the tissue is. Trust me, I’ve tried. In that time I’ve gotten my septum to 4g.

I will go and discuss with my piercer but I want to come in with other perspectives and some level of expectation before I actually schedule anything.

This sounds dumb asf and barely noticeable but my earlobe would always look like the first picture every time im not wearing earrings but then the hole became very noticeable after wearing a hoop yesterday. Nothing has changed in 2.5 years until yesterday

I can't get a good photo of the back of the lobes because of the curve in my ear but just from the front do these look good or like I am starting a blowout? The back of the lobe feels flat but also with the way my ears curve it's super hard to tell. Also any advice on how to get pics of the back?

Ive had my septum at 4g since october and i do plan on waiting a few more months to stretch it but when i first started stretching (i know i fucked up badly so dont point it out) i was stretching way too fast and if i were to get to a 2g in a few months would I be able too? Or would I have to downsize or restart… my septum hasnt been bothering me at all but when i do go to clean my septum I notice that there is this little thing in the middle of the hole that covers half of the hole idk how else to explain (look at pic 3 to see) it but would it be best to restart or is there is anything i can do 😭

Just got these new golden orb hangers and I’m absolutely in love!

I’ve had ring stacks in for a few years and finally found a set of hangers that feel like they really fit my aesthetic well. Removed most of the rings to make room for these fat bois and I can’t stop looking at them. Those who wear weights/hangers, you take them out to sleep right? My stretching journey happened more than a decade ago and my lobes are fully healed and healthy and I really don’t want to irritate them at all.
