Are you considering selling your old system? Keeping it and having both? Donating it?

Day 1 Buy for me. Anyone else?

Just gonna start by saying I'm not buying a Switch 2. But a friend of mine is selling his since he never uses it for $200. Really only want a switch to play FE and Pokemon again. And my other switch backlog games. Worth?
Update. He's throwing in Links Awakening, Case and charger. Alright π Deal.

Title says it all.
I'm personally really excited for a couple games for the Switch 2 (cough cough Donkey Kong) but the price of the Switch itself and the fact they'll charge people $80 for a game when the industry just got used to $70 is diabolical. I do wanna see Nintendo succeed, but I don't want to give them money when they're doing obvious practices I really don't like. I don't wanna drop $450 for what (in my eyes) is just a beefier Switch with some online stuff, and higher priced games.
So, my question to those who are with me on this topic, but still plan to get a new Switch: why? I ask this not to argue, but to get some insight into the community and why some still plan to get the Switch, even if they disagree with the price. (Please stay civil in the comments too </3)

I caved and dug out my Wii U. Anyone else in the same boat?

Yes, I know the Switch 2 was just announced. The kids and I got up early to watch the direct. BUT we are new to gaming in this house and are still working our way through the extensive Switch 1 library. I didnβt even know Switch existed until my husband bought it for us in 2022 π
I started with Animal Crossing, then Stardew Valley, then Breath of the Wild, and I finally started on Tears of the Kingdom. I always thought I was bad at video games but it turns out I just never played enough / the right games. And now I have my own Switch Lite that I donβt have to share with the kids!! ππ» so far the auto save data backup has been pretty seamless between both devices for when the kids want to watch me or help with shrines on the main switch thatβs hooked up to the tv.
Iβm sure weβll get the new switch whenever they come out with a new Animal Crossing or main Zelda game π although my kids are pumped for the new Mario Kart!
Anyway, Iβm happy to have discovered this cool world of gaming and wanted to share my new toy! Happy gaming everyone!

For me it's Hades 2 and Metroid Prime 4. I spent months with Hades 1 and plan to spent months again with Hades 2. And I'm recently convert Metroid fan (played Dread, Super and Prime 1 Remastered in a few weeks) I'm so excited to play more Metroid.
I'm glad switch 1 users still have games to look forward to. Switch 2 is amazing, but too expensive for me right now.

Switch oled, original dock, hdmi cable, box, instructions, all - except the power cable. + 1month old pro controler + pokemon violet, pokemon shield and Mario oddesy
How much would this be worth, approximately.. my estimate is ~200β¬
I also have a xbox360 slim, and a bunch of games, and the kinetic camera, 2 wireless controllers.... Which I think would get me maybe like 120β¬

The switch was shutting down every so often complaining of excessive heat. Battery replacement was way overdue... Bought a $24 kit, that was all the cost. Most delicate part ? unplugin/plugin battery cable (just pull up/down, but it is so small) and... removing aka... ungluing... the old battery using provided spatula... Patience is required, the glue was extremely old and sticky..

Hi, i'm trying to find a solution to my problem but i couldn't find One in internet so i'm trying here:
Recently i've installed Pokemon Home on my smartphone and i Need to use my account Nintendo to link It to the switch version, the problem Is that at the time i decided to create and account unbeknown to me that the switch already had One and the app Is telling me that there are no (Pokemon Home) data on the account (for obvious reasons), and now i am trying to access my old account in order to do this, but there are some problems:
So i want to know if there Is any way to re-obtain the password or change It in this specific circumstances i have found myself in.
Or to somehow change this old account with the new One i, almost accidentally, created without losing any data (since i have more than 1000 hours played in the games).

What are some of the switch 1's best game collection/compilations available? Bonus points for if there's physical cartridges available, more bonus points if it's a collection of games historically associated with Nintendo.

So I own an old switch and after reading how the Oled is much better, I was thinking about getting one, but then the Switch 2 trailer released and got unsure. The switch 2 is bigger but more expensive and has an lcd instead of an oled. Do you guys think itβs worth it to go for an oled and wait for a better switch 2, or just go for a switch 2 when it releases?

I noticed people were commenting on how silent Nintendo had been about stick drift for Switch 2, but I'd like to clarify that they *did* indeed bring it up during the Japanese showcase. As for why they decided to leave it out of the English version, I have absolutely no clue. Probably some translation / proofreading mistake. I don't know whether they're using Hall Effect tech either, as far as I know they didn't go into much detail.

(Roughly: "The sticks have gotten larger, and the durability has been improved")
