BE WARNED THAT THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS SLIGHT SPOILERS FOR TEARS OF THE KINGDOM
So, with the announcement of Age of Imprisonment, I've been super excited to dive back into the universe of BOTW and TOTK but I've been wondering OK, this time, they're saying they'll tell the canonical tale of the events that happened to Zelda while she was in the past. Let's assume this is true, in that case, how can they still include Link (because you know they'll want to include him one way or another) without breaking canon. And while they could include visions from the future showing some of Link's battles recreated in the Hyrule Warriors fashion (which could also be a way to include the new Sages in the game), I think a not unlikely solution lies with the Ancient Hero. I think the Ancient Hero will be the first Hero and act as a stand-in for Link gameplay-wise. After completing all the missions in the game, we'll earn a cosmetic piece that can turn him into Link, the same way Link earns a cosmetic piece that turns him into the Ancient Hero after completing all shrines.
However, there is a problem with this idea. Unfortunately, there is one line of dialogue in TOTK, spoken by Impa, that makes it impossible for the Ancient Hero to have been around during the War of Imprisonment. Or does it?
The line in question states that the Ancient Hero is the Hero depicted on the tapestry who defeated Calamity Ganon 10 000 years ago alongside the Divine Beasts (in English, Impa only says there is a striking resemblance but in French, she outright says "omg you're dressed just like him", I'd be curious what the Japanese line says). But that statement always seemed a little off to me for several reasons:
(1) He doesn't look anything like the hero on the tapestry. The only thing that matches is the red hair aaand that's really it, the clothes don't match, the eyes don't match, the tail doesn't match, etc. (2) Speaking of clothes, the Ancient Hero is wearing the Sages' cloth, the white cloth with golden triangles on it that only the Sages wear, which would suggest that he was around at that time and maybe even that he fought alongisde them. In fact, if he truly were the Calamity Hero, why would he be wearing Zonai garb at all? By that time, the Zonai had been extinct for thousands of years, it would make much more sense for him to be wearing Sheikah clothing. (3) I just don't understand why the devs would give us the outfit of the Calamity Hero from 10 000 years ago as a reward for finishing all the Zonai shrines, in the Zonai game that tries desperately hard from start to finish to pretend that the Calamity and anything BOTW-related doesn't exist.
So I've been thinking about this and wondering if there was any way the Ancient Hero could have been around during the War of Imprisonment AND during the last Calamity 10 000 years ago and I think I've found it!... sort of.
If you look at the Ancient Hero's clothing, you might notice that it is actually identical to another set in the game: the Zonaite set. So, if that truly was the Calamity Hero's outfit, then there is no reason Impa should react to it as well, right? Except... she doesn't. Which can mean several things. (1) The devs just forgot to add a line or just didn't think it was relevant. (2) When Impa says "you look just like the Ancient Hero from the tapestry", she's not taking about the outfit, she's talking about the Ancient Hero's species.
What if... the Ancient Hero wearing the Zonaite set IS from the time of the War of Imprisonment and the Calamity Hero is just another member of the same species, which disappeared in the 10 000 years between the last Calamity and BOTW (maybe the species was actually wiped out by the last Calamity)? A lot of people have assumed the Ancient Hero was a Zonai, or a Zonai-Hylian hybrid, but that doesn't make sense either. The Zonai are goat-like creatures, and the Hylians are humanoids, why would a hybrid of these two species give a dog-like creature? I think the Ancient Hero was the Sage of a different species altogether, and I'd even wager that this species is the warlike tribe living in the Faron region mentioned in the description of the Barbarian set (the Barbarian set even has the red mane of hair, similar to the Ancient Hero and the Hero on the tapestry). In fact, the existence of that dog-like species would also explain the appearance of the mysterious dog-like statues in the Depths that don't match any other species! (granted, they don't have a tail, but neither does the Hero on the tapestry, and arguably the Depths statues are reminiscent at best of the species they represent, I mean look at the Rito statue)
If true, then this theory could solve the mystery of the Ancient Hero AND, if this hypothetical tribe is featured in Age of Imprisonment, allow for novelty and a bunch of original characters, including a Link stand-in! What do you think of my little crackpot idea on the Ancient Hero?

I was at the Crenel Hills area on top of one of the broken giant tree stumps and Gloom Hands spawn. Considering the height I was standing, I didn’t have to do anything and they would have eventually despawn. But I wanted to mess around with fused arrows and started shooting away. Thought they were going to automatically turn into dark clumps considering my height disadvantage. Phantom Ganon spawns but at the bottom of the stump and he’s just locked there staring off at me. I start shooting him with keese eyes and he automatically teleported to the top of the tree stump!?
In all of the let’s plays I’ve watched, I have never seen this?…. Granted in all of the let’s plays with Phantom Ganon everyone is fighting him lol
Gloom hands aren’t scary unless you are at ground level with them, already “been there, seen that” regarding first appearance and seeing phantom ganon after but the teleport reignited the fear!

Im trying to complete a zero upgrade, zero sages, no fast travel run. I would like to collect hearty salmon but all the ponds and shops i knew about seem to only be unlocked after the weather anomalies are gone which is very sad. I checked tama pond, the water around the flight range, kilsie lake, and the zora shop to no success. Should I give up?

I’m fighting a Molduga right quick after the blood moon and a Yiga shows up… I dispatch them both quickly and then find this souvenir “attached” to my suit but floating in the air. Anyone seen this?

So I know Nintendo has shown that certain items and weapons can be traded between games. They even mentioned how you could trade between Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. So I’m curious if anybody has heard anything about trading armor? I would really love to start a new Breath of the Wild file, 100% the game, and trade all my fully upgraded armor to my Tears of the Kingdom playthrough.

I just realised now that the argument about whether or not SMG1 or SMG2 is better is almost the exact same as the argument about BOTW or TOTK - while SMG2 has better levels, and TOTK has better sidequests and runes, SMG1 and BOTW both have this nostalgic, wondrous feel that the sequel just can't quite recreate, making deciding on which one is better very difficult and often creating an almost equal divide. They are also all very and similarly critically acclaimed [they all have a 97 on Metacritic, aside from TOTK, which has 96].

I’m wondering, what will happen to the glitches on BOTW and TOTK when they are gonna come to the Switch 2?
If you don’t know what I’m talking abt, I’m talking abt the Bow of light glitch for BOTW and the Msgnotfound and dupe glitches for TOTK
Do you think they will patch it?, I mean, they started caring abt BOTW and TOTK after idk how many years
