Announcement [TOMT][MOD] Solved! - How to mark your post Solved!
Marking Your Submission Solved!
Make a comment saying Solved! to the first (oldest) correct answer
it is important you check that it is the first correct answer on the post. Reddit notifications are often in the wrong order.
Only OP or a mod can mark a post Solved!, but if you see the OP say thanks but not reply with Solved! (give them at least several hours), you can report the post to the mods using reddit's report feature (Report - breaks r/tipofmytongue rules - Not Marked Solved!) which will pop a link to the comment or post in to the mod queue for us to review.
Editing an existing comment will not trigger the bot - you must make a new comment for the bot to see it.
What if I solve it myself?
Just reply to your comment solving it with Solved! You won't get a point, but the flair will get set.
Here's what you'll see when this is done properly:
- OP responds with a comment with Solved!
- Post gets flaired with "Solved" It's usually near immediate. The bot, TipOfMyCircuitboard awards the point to the person the OP replied to.
- Person who answered gets a reply from the bot notifying of point.

Solved [TOMT] [MOVIE] [2000s] Horror movie i watched as a kid but could only remember a single scene clearly
A little boy was sleeping in his bed at night, when he saw a light-blue ghost/spirit with the figure of a man standing and watching him, the man then pointed at the room's window making the kid stand up from his bed to check and he saw his backyard burning then started screaming which made his father rush to him.
Another detail i remember is that the kid's room was on the second floor.
I watched that movie with subtitles in 2012-2013 so it could be from the 2000's to the beginning of the 2010's.

Open [TOMT] [recipe] a lentil soup recipe from a fandom blog or Tumblr
I fully accept that this is some deep nerd nonsense.
Some years ago, before 2018 at least, I found what was either a blog or a Tumblr site that had recipes of things that were in books or movies. I would say there was maybe a 65% chance it was a tumblr site.
There was one recipe that was inspired by Lord of the Rings, and it was an incredible green lentil soup with sausage.
The writing was really good and there were a lot of recipes from different media properties.
I used to have it saved and would make the lentil soup occasionally, but now I can't find it and haven't been able to find a recipe anywhere near as good.
Any suggestions?
Edit: I know for sure the recipe had green lentils, sausage and barley.

Open [TOMT] Help me find this Korn-esque song
I heard this song somewhere and it’s stuck in my head - I could have sworn it was Korn but it’s not I spent my whole train ride searching for it, Google isn’t bringing anything up.
The part of the song I remember has a similar riff to the chorus of Coming Undone and the harder part of Blind (both by Korn) and the lyrics that I remember go “Tell me am I outta my mind” and it repeats at least a couple of times. I am pretty sure that it’s what I said before, but it could also be “Tell me are you outta your mind” but it’s one of those.
Appreciate any help before this drives me crazy lol

Solved [TOMT][TV SHOW] Sitcom with an episode that ends in a character sitting on top of a dryer
In the show two female characters are talking about their sex lives and one mentions that she's never had an orgasm. This all culminated in the one telling the other an apparent full proof way to have one.
At the end of the episode, the character in question is seen sitting on top of a clothes dryer machine (like you use for laundry) with a sheet over her waist, apparently really enjoying herself. At the time I saw it, I didn't think much of it, I hadn't hit puberty yet so it all kinda went over my head, but a few years later I suddenly remembered it and knew what was going on. I just need to confirm it exists to sate my own curiosity. I'm almost positive it wasn't on any of the risqué channels like HBO, because until a couple years ago me and my family never paid for any tv and just had local channels.
I know it's a bit of a stretch, but I hope someone can help me find it!

Open [TOMT] The film tells the story of a psychopath who is obsessed with turning his script into a movie.
The film mostly takes place in a caravan-style vehicle. The psychopath takes at least 3 people hostage. One of the people he takes hostage is the director and others like him. Another person he takes hostage is a woman. He makes the director read the script he wrote with a gun. He forces the other hostages to use the vehicle. In one scene, he asks the director who is reading the script why he is silent. The director says that he is enjoying the script and says that. The psychopath thinks that the director loves him and becomes happy. Somehow they get rid of this psychopath and the psychopath is arrested. One of the arresting police officers reads the psychopath's script in the vehicle. He tells his friend who comes to him that it is a really great story. His friend takes the script and throws it out the window. In the last scene, the psychopath, sitting in a cell with his hands and arms tied, writes a new script on the toilet paper in the cell with an object in his mouth. It's definitely not a new movie, but it's not that old either. It must have been between the late 90s and 2010. Unfortunately, I don't remember any other details.
Wrong predictions:
Creep
Creep Tapes
Mouth of Madness
Movie 43
Cecil B Demeted
Last Shot
Comeback Trail
Barton Fink
Seven Psychopaths
Baghead
Director's Cut

Open [TOMT] [MOVIE] A Japanese movie about two brothers, one of whom is kidnapped by an assassin
Hello! I haven't actually watched the movie, but my sister did, she is the one looking for it again. She can't speak English that well, so I'll be helping her.
The movie follows a story of two brothers, one of whom was kidnapped by the assassin. The same killer also killed the brothers' parents. The important motif seems to be "fire", since the killer had a tattoo of a flame. Fire might also be a part of the title. The movie focuses on the brothers' search for each other. In the end they succeed (years later), but one of them is dying.
That is all she can remember. Thank you for your help!

Open [TOMT] Book of Children's fairy tales
I had a book as a kid Ioved. Late 80's / early 90's.
It was a hardcover book of children's fairy tales, but not sure if they were traditional or by modern authors.
The book was likey published in the UK.
It had (I think!) A generic name like "A Treasury of Childern's Stories" or something to that effect.
The book was hardcovered, mainly white, and about A4 sized.
It had a picture of a man (possible greenskinned with red hair and a goatee) on the front cover riding a horse with a sword drawn.
The book itself was quite thick, probably 2 cm.
I remember one of the stories was about a king who hires a painter to paint the likeness of the devil, but the devil comes in and paints it for him. When the king sees it, he goes insane.
There was another one about a man who visits some underworld (I think) and is given great wisdom by the inhabitants there. He ends up successful, but one day bathing, another person (the Grand Vizair, or some such) notices a mark on his belly that shows he had been to the underworld place. He's forced to show the way there and all its inhabitants are killed (but the leader tells the protaginist not to regret it, they were fated to die etc.).
Any help greatly appreciated!

Solved [TOMT] [Actor] looks kinda like old Al Pacino
I ran across a similar unsolved TOMT while trying to figure this one out.
I can see him in a movie or Tv series. He looks a lot like Al Pacino does now. Scruffy beard, generally old generic white guy looks. Not bald. Average height and build. I see him playing a small part in this, as maybe a lawyer or executive of some sort. Definitely a reasonably recognizable actor in a “I know I’ve seem him in something else” kinda way, but not a household name either.
Edit: it’s not any of the folks suggested here

Open [TOMT] [VIDEO] [SONG] Animated music video with two girls.
An animated music video featuring two young girls. I remember that one of them was covered in bruises and band-aids, and that near the end of the video there was a memorable scene where she was looking at the blue sky while driving in a car. This video was viewed by me on youtube.

Open [TOMT] a song MV about a guy trying diff ways to get over his ex
so there's this song that i remember only the mv very well, and if im not mistaken the singer was a woman.
it's about a guy who broke up with his gf (the guy is the mc in the mv) the mv starts at some sort of daytime bar or cafe, he sees his ex with some dude and decides to get up and go to his apartment with beer and takeouts, and i think hosts a party there.
another scene where he goes to a club, finds some random girl, gets drunk with her and they both go outside the bar where he then kisses her or about to kiss her but ends up throwing up.
another scene which is crazy, he books some woman to come over to his apartment or he goes to hers, where he takes off all of his clothes but his boxers are still there laying in bed, she then comes with a mouth ball, puts it on him and spanks him with a cricket bat 💀.
at the very end all what he's been through gets a rewind with a clock that appears on the screen going backwards and back to the bar/cafe as if this all happened in his head, still looking at his ex, she then looks back at him, mv ends.
i KNOW this song existed but idk if it got deleted or smth, i found this song during 2015-2016. idk if it was popular but i know that it kept getting recommended for me, that's how i found it.

Open [TOMT] [Comic] Really Weird Request
Don't know whether to ask here or not, but here goes. I'M trying to find a picture/meme of a questionable comic that I saw once. It was attached to that Confused Screaming or Filthy Frank meme, and it's about a woman that gets snatched by a tree, and the tree pulls her toward itself. Then, right when the tree is about to penetrate her, the next box shows her with the tree pregnant. I can't find it on Google or anywhere so if you're up for helping me out, I would appreciate it because that darn photo just popped up in my head one day and I want to know where it's from.

Open [TOMT][TV][2000s]A local Utah network that may have aired Thanksgiving themed reruns
In the late 2000's through early to mid 2010's I remember my parents putting on a channel that specifically used to re-air Thanksgiving themed media, everything from old cooking show episodes, Adam Sandler SNL skits, cartoon specials, and a specifically bizarre skit/commercial that depicted a woman and her entire family turning into turkeys. The channel only aired these specials the day before Thanksgiving from what I remember. I've spoken to my Mom who does vaguely remember the channel. Though up until now I thought that the "Thanksgiving channel" had been some weird false memory. I recently brought it up to a cast mate at a post rehearsal dinner who swore up and down that she remembered a very similar channel having existed, we both last remember viewing the channel around 2015-2016 so that may have been when the channel stopped re-airing the Thanksgiving specials.

Open [TOMT] [SONG] Help me find a Russian song I've been chasing.
The things about it i remember: 1. It's a duet between a young guy and girl (20yo by my estimate) 2. The song is slow rap (kind of similar to Death Bed by Powfu in style) 3. As I do not speak the language I can't tell you what the song is about but there are parts where they were talking about putting each other to sleep (killing eachother I'm guessing), but it is kind of a love song I guess, or a breakup song...something like that 4. I remember the song (or artist) having a short title/name, but I've been looking for it for so long that even I am not so sure, the title and artist are fully written in cyrillic as far as I remember.
I would appreciate all the help I can get, I have been wrecking my brain with this for way too long. Good luck.

Open [TOMT] [VIDEO] [2010s] A meme of a gross/weird cooking video with Hereditary (2018) music over it.
I've been trying to find this video for ages. I saw it around the time when the movie Hereditary first came out (so 2018, maybe 2019), and now I can't find it anywhere.
It's a video of a person preparing a chicken, one of those video tutorials made by slop YouTube channels, maybe as ragebait (just as TikTok took off). In the video, the person prepares raw chicken, and I believe that it had either strange or very little seasoning, but the "meme" part of the video is the person pulling out either a huge stick of butter or block of cream cheese (can't remember) and stuffing it inside, and the music crescendos during this.
It creates an unsettling but funny effect at the expense of the frankly gross looking recipe. The recipe was probably in earnest and I remember the video mainly featuring hands and not any full person. It had relatively slow buildup, it was no less than a 1-3 minute video.
The music was this part from the song if that helps. Does anyone else remember this or know where I can find it? It cracked me and my friend up really hard and we still talk about it to this day. There were a lot of memes like this with that song at the time, but this one seems to have been lost or obscured by time.

Open [TOMT] looking for a music video i watched few years ago
l've been trying to find this music video for years and it's driving me crazy. It was a fully animated, cartoon-style video--not anime, but smooth and colorful with emotional, symbolic visuals. It starts with a curly brown haired girl waking up in her room, looking tired, maybe in her underwear, and looking into a mirror. Then she shifts into a fantasy world, possibly turning into a monster (not scary, just symbolic). I remember she walks into a forest, meditates, and sees some strange creatures, if I remember correctly The overall tone was dreamy and meaningful, maybe about identity or self-acceptance. The song was slow, emotional, probably indie-style, and sung by a male voice- maybe from a lesser-known band. I originally saw it on YouTube, probably 5-10 years ago or more. It's not a mainstream hit, and I don't remember any lyrics, just the vibe and visuals. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, pleas -this has haunted me for so long!
