Discussion suggestion: list of places that are closed

"hurr durrr nobodys gonna show you their spot bro"

fine, whatever, but it would be helpful to know which spots aren't available before i get there and find that its gated off since the DNR land parcel map doesn't provide that info, or any info at all for that matter. saves new shooters like me time and gas when they're looking for somewhere to go.

i think we should have a pinned post that gets updated when people go to places and find that they're closed and gets updated if they do re-open

Discussion Selling in Washington State

I know i am not allowed to use Reddit to sell a firearm and i am not trying to do that so hopefully these questions are allowed. But I recently won a Savage B22 in a raffle that i dont think i want to keep. I have never sold a gun before, so i have a bunch of questions.

  • Is there any special rules in Washington around selling guns I should be aware of? I figure i will need to go through a shop but dont know any more than that.
  • Is there any local places/resources i can post a for sale? I dont think i want to also navigate shipping for this, so want it to be local.
  • Do gun any shops do buybacks or consignments? I dont think the gun is worth much so dont want to spend a bunch of effort.

Thanks!

Discussion Super Safety isn't considered an FRT?

Upvotes

I just learned about the Super Safety yesterday. Someone was saying that it's completely legal in Washington and a binary trigger is not. I know the Delta Team Tactical Forced Trigger Reset is illegal here, so I don't understand how a Super Safety is legal, when it basically performs the same function. I'm not really looking to get one of these, I'm just curious about them, and the legal arguments surrounding them. So what do you knowledgeable peeps say? How are the FRT and binary trigger kits illegal, but the Super Safety isn't? They do look like a lot of fun, even though that's not really my jam.

Discussion Is Sultan Pit less busy in the morning or evening?

For those of you familiar with this spot, do you know when most people are out there? Now that the weather is warming up there's always several people out there. I really enjoyed being out there by myself most of the time back when it was cold and wet. I'd like to avoid the big crowds if possible, but I haven't figured out when most people will be there. I'm guessing it's probably most populated in the mid-day and early afternoon, but idk.

Question Panzer Arms Ranch12?

Post image
7 Upvotes

Understandbly folks have been annoyed with the daily “is it legal?!” questions. Regardless even after running through the flowchart, checking all of the necessary boxes - I called my local FFL and even still they were iffy. Mostly due to the muzzle device but nowhere on the site does it claim being equipped with a threaded barrel. I’m not too bothered it’s a PanzerArms and I know what comes with it - but even still it looks like a lot of fun!

Info Live in Seattle, looking for longer distances, but have no car.

People mention longer ranges but they’re often a long drive out of the city (I’m on First Hill). Is there any land I can shoot on where they have busses that travel to that area and I can hike the rest?

I don’t mind taking an Uber or bus to terminal to catch a bus ride to the mountains.

I’m fine with a 5-10 mile hike to a spot, the issue I’m having is finding transportation to get me in the area.

Just looking at for some clearing out to 500-700yds I can stretch my rifle out to. It’s a suppressed AR and I have various MK262 77gr loads I want to test out.

The gun will be broken down in a regular hiking backpack.

I’m also of the gun people that never leave trash/shells behind and follow the 4 rules.

If you know of some good spots and don’t want them to be put on blast, you’re welcome to send me a DM.

My rifle setup above because everyone likes looking at guns

Question Has anyone replaced the ear pads on the Savior Equipment Apollos?

Post image

I bought these as my first set of ear protection and also picked up the NoiseFighters Gel Ear Pads with the glasses cutout. Anyone gone through the process of changing the earpads on the Apollos? I can't seem to get the original ones off without tearing them up, and have found no other useful instructions online.

Info Revocation of gun rights

Idk if this is the right thread or not. My buddy just got a letter in the mail after getting denied a pistol from kitsap county sheriff's saying his cpl was getting revoked and has till next Friday to transfer all his firearms. Says "prohibited conviction. The thing is he is 50 and has no convictions except a misdemeanor mischief at 17 which isn't a prohibiting offense and was sealed. He has many pistols, ar's and suppressors. Never been denied his whole life. Anybody have a clue what's going on? Iv given him my lawyers number just waiting to hear back. Any info is much appreciated!

Question CZ P10F Holosun SCS

I've heard good reviews and have been looking around for this for a while but it's sold out everywhere. I know this model is specifically 19rd but am fine even losing out on the mags when it gets transferred to my local FFL and just picking up 10 rounders. Anyone know of any reliable places I can find it and go through? Seems cheaper than buying an OR version and paying for the slide cut/milling and optic separately.

here's an example the specific model as a reference: link

Discussion Ranges to practice draw from concealment?

Hey everyone. I’m relatively new to concealed carry and wondering where I can practice drawing and shooting from concealment?

The ranges in my area (Tri Cities) seem to not allow this from my understanding of range rules. Is there somewhere in SE WA that does allow this? Thanks in advance.

Discussion .50 BMG VS .338 Lapua in WA, which is more fun to own?

Hey y'all, I was looking at Barret's M99 and MRAD rifles (.50 BMG and .338 Lapua respectively), hoping to purchase one of them in the next 5 years if the AWB isn't lifted by then. Just wanted to ask for opinions: which would be more fun to own? .50 BMG would be very funny to own right now, especially with our current laws, but I only know of one range in the entire state that would allow it. On the other hand, I might have a slightly easier time finding ranges that allow .338 Lapua, but (this is just my opinion) it wouldn't be as funny as owning the bigger caliber rifle.

Owning either rifle would mostly just be for fun, so the usefulness/finances behind either caliber is not relevant to me. I appreciate any thoughts on this!

EDIT: Thanks for all of y'all's opinions! I decided I'll try to go for a .50 Cal Rifle in the future, as mentioned it's more of the "shoot things for fun" caliber, while .338 seems more fun for those extremely long range hits (ranges that have that kind of distance is too far for me to drive to). Hopefully I can get that rifle within the next 5 years!

Info Sportsman’s moving ammo behind the counter

My local moved all their ammo behind the counter- I’ve seen it at other ones but thought it was due to theft - guess I’ll order it all online now as the gun guy was slower than a dead raccoon.

Question Does a Glock made into a SBR configuration like this fail the AWB Test?

Post image
0 Upvotes

The stock is the FAB Cobra Quick Deployment Folding Stock.

I’m guessing it does fail the AWB test because of the overall length requirement and the folding stock.

I think a non-NFA Glock pistol made into a non-NFA rifle utilizing a fixed stock using an attaching system similar to this and using a barrel greater than 16” that pushes it over the 30” OAL could theoretically be legal. Just don’t attach the oh-so scary vertical foregrip of ultimate death, and it could be kosher.

IANAL, and this is not legal advice.
