There's a sports pub in Clayton my family frequents (easy option when you have a picky 4 year old), and we went there last night for the first time in a few weeks and since the last time, they jacked up their prices. They legit have a burger that's barely anything special that's $19! Hardly worth it, but at least better than mcnuggets I guess

Went there once after a day hiking Diablo and couldn’t believe how expensive it was considering it was very basic, very mid bar food. More expensive than comparable but better food in SF or Oakland. Seemed like an alright place to catch a game and a couple beers though.

There food is bad.

I wouldn’t say it’s bad, it’s what you’d expect from a a restaurant of their style, but they’re certainly not good enough to drive prices for brisket tacos upwards of $20

You nailed the only good item on their menu. Drinks, deserts are fine

They have a few other things that are good, but none of it is worth the price after the recent hike

I had the worst breakfast burrito ever at the SAC airport (the Delta terminal). $19 too. Airport prices will become the norm everywhere, I guess.

u/ericsinsideout 1d ago

Airport food prices are likely to double

In this day and age, you gotta use the apps if you want lower prices.

This isn’t a thing. It’s only for exports and he’s just asking other countries nicely not to tax our exports in retaliation.

We've got a long way to go. Hell, a Denny's French Toast Grand Slam with cheesy eggs (the standard unit of economic measure) near San Francisco costs up to 30% more than it does in Milwaukee.

The rent is too damn many Denny's French Toast Grand Slams with cheesy eggs!!

To be fair they probably get a good deal on their cheese in Milwaukee.

Happy cows that are well paid are in California.

u/USDeptofLabor 1d ago

It's only a 14% difference but okay

1

u/NecroJoe 1d ago

South San Fransico: $17.79+$2.99 upgrade for the cheesy eggs = $20.78

Milwaukee: $13.39+$1.29 upgrade for cheesy eggs = $14.68

3

u/Positronic_Matrix SF 1d ago

It’s a 32% difference for the base, 41% with the upgrade.

Is the Milwaukee location also an Airport/Hotel location?

Fair enough though, I was looking at at different location but you are right. I stand corrected.

We are getting raped on our electric bill. We pay $0.57 per kw while almost everywhere else it's $0.15 or less. Newsom will still take 15% off the top for his own pocket. He's basically the other side of Donald Trump and a giant piece of shit.

14

u/levthelurker 1d ago

They're the two sides of neoliberalism

Newsom will still take 15% off the top for his own pocket.

Utter bullshit.

1

u/GunBrothersGaming 1d ago

Really? Just wait until PG&E asks for another rate hike and it goes through without issue. They've asked for 7 rate hikes in the past year which all were approved. California's government is corrupt AF. Newsoms plan is self serving. Most likely with the promise he'll run in 2028 and reverse everything with perpetuity.

Newsom will be just as bad as Trump, just a democrat version.

5

u/Positronic_Matrix SF 1d ago

Really. Claiming Newsom skims 15% off PG&E revenue off the top for his own pocket [sic] is complete horseshit.

I can’t believe you just got down voted for pointing out high energy costs and calling Newsome a POS. Take my upvote.

Well I mean when you have Trump it makes people forget what a huge piece of shit Newsom is and how bad he is for our country. He would literally have done the opposite of Trump and tanked the economy.

There is a reason for the shift away from Democrats to Republicans in California.

Anyone who has lived with PG&E and paid out their ass for electricity because of Newsom and his corrupt politicians knows how much he's hated.

People just hate Trump so much they think Newsom is the answer when he's part of the same problem. His corruption is inline with his aunts. Both need to go.
