General: Doors/Games Modern BBS Games

What are you, the players looking for in a modern BBS Door game? What are features in classics you enjoyed and why? What are things you feel were unnecessary annoying or outdated with classic door games?

Was never really a huge fan of door games for my BBS back in the day. It was geared towards more of a file serve type system although it's a great question?

I'd say a remake of a M.U.D (multi user dungeon) but now having telnet connections offering many more users in MMOrpg type gameplay (beats a four node dialup system :) it could really work well. I'd be keen to help develop one having some experience building custom BBS apps albeit from wayy back.

Add an ANSI interface (old-school M.U.D was B&W ASCII originally)... So some sort of beefed up app designed for interoperability between the different existing BBS software.

Then integrate messaging across the diff. systems (maybe add an app which also provides for more users in Android / IOS aside from telnet logins?).

Look forward to hearing from people re: this idea? I'd be able to design it collaboratively if others were involved.

Have you heard of or played DoorMUD? It sounds like what you're looking for and it's fun.

MajorMUD was as addicting as World of Warcraft.

Something like a multi-user Dungeon Master.
