Discussion I know She is a bit weak, but She is the only character with the best regeneration in all of Chainsawman.
Demons literally need a lot of blood to fully recover, but she only needs to absorb the life energy of a living being (regardless of size) to literally recover 100%.

Discussion I Think Pochita is the Abandonment Devil Spoiler
u/Lexigan__3 posted this thing a couple days ago with their hypothesis on who Pochita is and this is why I agree with them. I’ve largely supported the birth/life devil theory because I couldn’t think of another applicable fear until something hit me. Pochita’s entire special power is about erasing the existence of anything he consumes. When that devil is eaten, they are forcibly removed from their cycle of life, their natural progression. Isn’t that abandonment?
The concept of abandonment isn’t just being discarded but also being unused. Every single Devil that Pochita has eaten has been unilaterally removed from existence, cast off to be discarded and never thought of again. Any sense of power they ever had is gone because no one remembers them to fear them. Think about yourself. You’re taught how to be. How to interact with others. How to get by one day to the next. Suddenly, you’re fired, your house burn down, your entire family dies. You live in a war zone. Your sense of purpose disappears. With all of these situations, it can feel like you’ve been abandoned by the world, by god, by everyone who’s ever cared for you. These Devils have their own purpose. They may not have jobs or families or the ability to care for anything, but they have a purpose. They are to be feared by humans. Even if they’re killed, they’ll just go to hell for a while and then come back. But Pochita forcibly separates the relationship between humans and devils, inherently weakening devils to the point of theoretical nothingness(I say theoretical because if consumed devils can be brought back, then there’s some sort of a metaphysical plane where they reside. Also some devils still remember them so they can’t just be gone gone.)
Pochita can ruin everything for devils. His singular existence has the capacity to upend the cycle of life and death permanently. He literally alters reality to one in which they don’t mean anything. Pochita has abandoned them. He’s preventing them from living out their existences the only way they know how. Plus, the manga has shown (maybe not explicitly told) that the consumed devils can theoretically be brought back from whenever they were eaten. We saw mouth and ears get regurgitated. Yoru wants nuclear weapons back. Also Pochita’s immense strength and capabilities could come from the fact that humans and devils both fear him. But yeah, that’s what’s been in my head today.
Tldr: Pochita is the abandonment devil. He prevents devils from engaging in the one thing they exist for. He forcibly removes the relationship between humans and devils, causing devils to disappear. How many people can fear something they can’t remember in any way, shape, or form?

Discussion Finally gonna read the manga past season 1
So basically I got into Chainsaw Man about 2 years ago now when I watched the anime. I got through it real quick. Since then I first became vaguely aware of the story onward, everything with Makima being the control devil and Pochita being the hero of Hell. Then I checked out the manga around chapter 132. I checked out the chapters each week and that led to me keeping up regularly.
Now with how insane the last chapter is I finally decided to check out the manga properly as I should’ve long ago. At the time of writing this I read chapters 1-38 to keep things right.
It’ll be extra fun reading with the revelations of 198 in mind.

Discussion How Many Ways Can Makima’s Contract Be Bypassed?
In Chainsaw Man, Denji manages to break Makima’s contract by killing her in a way that’s deemed a “form of love”—suggesting that intent of the attack is key. But what if her downfall came about without deliberate intent?
Could accidents bypass her contract? For example:
She unknowingly eats poorly prepped fugu or has a fish bone lodged in her throat.
She gets struck by lightning.
Steps on a Lego (citizen).
She’s exposed to radiation or a disease.
What about supernatural entities that passively cause harm—like a being whose very presence drains life, distorts space or causes decay? It has no intent to harm her, its power is just an unfortunate result of its existence.
What do you think? Are there ways to bypass her contract that haven’t been considered? Would anything that isn’t an “attack” work?

Artwork - OC Chainsaw Man collage
Had a few extra volumes lying around that I’ve cut pages out of already and decided to make a collage for a picture frame I had. Super satisfied with the result and thought other fans would think it’s cool.

Theory So that's why it's so strong
Even though Himeno sacrafice "all of herself" to the ghost devil, which is a pretty big sacrifice all around and it does overpower Katana man, it still dies to a basic attack by snake devil. Now, I believe this is because our inherent near-primal like fear of snakes that even help us to evolve to detect snakes. Even in mythology of the bible, which has leviathan, or Thor battling Jormungandr, it seems that snake have some kind of a higher tier place in the fear chart. It just goes to show how dangerous snake is in ye olden times that the snake devil probably gets most of it power from. The main reason I bring up Leviathan however is that I think with the advent of the horsemen and death I think it's important to note Fujimoto may be drawing inspiration from the bible far more than we realize.

Discussion Yoru as the final antagonist sounds kinda underwhelming
While I love Yoru and find her entertaining as a character and even though she's been in the story since the first chapter of part 2, I'm not sure if she has the makings of a compelling final antagonist like Makima. She's power hungry and straight up evil. Her motives are bringing the fear of war back and being remembered forever. But she still comes across as too one dimensional to be the big bad.
I know she's connected to both Asa and Denji but her relationship with Asa is pretty much non-existent at this point. Despite loving Denji, albeit in a twisted way, her relationship with him feels like a cheap rehash of Denji and Makima. It doesn't feel deep and personal like it was with Makima or, even Death who destroyed both Asa and Denji's lives.
So unless Fujimoto goes for a route where Yoru and Asa's identities get blurred and their minds merge with each other or he pulls some type of Fight Club twist that adds another layer to Yoru's character, I'm not sold on her as the final villain.
Weirdly enough, I think Death has more potential as an antagonist. She's been the overreaching mastermind of part 2 and literally is responsible for the mess Denji and Asa have gone through. The concept she represents also ties into the story's themes and what Denji and Asa's characters represent. She has the makings of a compelling final antagonist, compared to Yoru at least.

Theory Pochita is the abandonment devil. Spoiler
gallery(Apologies if this is a bit cluttered, this is copied from my messages in the discord server.)
Abandonment is a primal fear, and I'd say it's one of the strongest besides death. This could explain why pochita is so strong and has this power in the first place.
Fearing being abandoned is something so intrinsic, so primal that humans have developed to the point where being abandoned manifests in physical symptoms in humans. Humans without each other find it extremely difficult to live without a community. Not even just one other person, but a whole community. The most common traits and characteristics in humans evolved so that we would not get abandoned by others.
Additionally, death and birth are BOTH forms of abandonment. When we are born, we are quite literally abandoned from our mothers bodies. This ties into all the motherly and birth symbolism of pochita. Chainsaws were originally invented to aid in birth, abandoning or letting the child abandon from the mothers body (There's probably hundreds of other posts about this)
However, when we die, we are also abandoning this world. Nothing that belonged to us comes with us, and we dissolve into the earth. We are abandoned physically. Eventually, our names will be forgotten. We are abandoned mentally. This is also why I think pochita has the powers he has.
We see deathmi with her organs removed. Abandonment, just like tanks and guns to war, could be the child of death. Her removed organs could be what manifested into pochita/abandonment devil. Sorry if this is too vulgar, but the hole in deathmis torso kind of resembles a birth canal. This also correlates to the mother and child symbolism of pochita, as black chainsaw man always has an intestine/umbilical cord around his neck

Pochita, just like denji, seeks a relationship. They seek to not be alone, and pochita being abandonment would further this; we literally saw pochita struggling to denji as if he was abandoned at the very start of story.
It's possible that pochita has a pocket dimension just like aging where these concepts go to be abandoned. That's why when he eats things, they can still come back
Additionally, a major theme in chainsaw man is that ignorance is bliss. Most of society in chainsaw man tends to ignore a lot of what's happening, abandoning a topic for the sake of the greater good. Although we don't know pochita's true intentions, it becomes clearer by day that what he erases is for the greater good of humanity.
(Included panels support what i say if it isn't already general knowledge)
