A lot of Dodgers history in this photo

Clockwise, from T-R: Reggie Smith, Ron Cey, Dusty Baker, and Steve Garvey

In 1977, these players became the first foursome on the same team to hit 30 or more home runs each during the regular season. This photo was taken by team photographer Richard Kee prior to the start of the final series against the Astros (who were in the National League at the time).

That means when the photo was taken, Dusty Baker still had just 29 home runs. The photo itself was taken guerrilla-style, so as not to rouse suspicion from the Astros. Kee promised to destroy the photo if Dusty could not accomplish the feat, but he got there during the final game of the season.

The rest, as they say, is history.

For anyone down on Ohtani's performance

He had a VERY slow start last year, don't act like you don't remember. It was to the point where Angels fans were coming into Game Chats and Post-Game Chats to reassure all of us that he takes some time to get going, not to worry. And, well, look what happened. Around the middle of May and especially in June, he just exploded. It's only a matter of time.

Pages, though? Sigh. I saw what he did last year at home, the kid has pop. But he seems lost this year, again; at the plate AND in CF. I just don't see him getting sent down any time soon. Are we really that excited to see Outman come back up? He's not much better at the plate, marginally on defense. Just gotta see how it plays out.

Does anyone know where in the stadium I can find the Dodger dog keychain?

Going on Friday with my girlfriend for her first game and she wants one. Don’t want to disappoint, but hoping to not have to look through the whole stadium.

Incredible how fast Rotowear got onto the Kose swipe bandwagon 😅 Impressive 👍 Though they clearly say, "This product features an original RotoWear design, and is not endorsed or licensed in any way by any team, league or organization."

Roki Sasaki lets out a roar after coming out of the game. He was on the edge of his dugout after a great play by teammate!

Rokiiii! You did it! That was an amazing pitching performance! I’m still feeling all the potential in you. The Reiwa Era monster is still just waking up! Your support for your teammates, filled with so much passion, was also incredible!

“After coming out of the game in the fourth inning, Sasaki watched intently from the dugout. With one out and runners on first and third, lefty Banda came in as the second pitcher and threw a sixth-pitch slider to Kyle Schwarber, who hit a sharp line drive to right. But Teoscar Hernández made the catch, and Stott, who had taken off from first, couldn’t get back in time. Hernández fired it back to first for a double play. At that moment, Sasaki leaned out of the dugout, his face lit up, and he threw his right finger in the air, letting out a huge roar.”
