Does AMR look bad on a resume?

Almost every single role 911 BLS job around me is through AMR, the paramedic program I want to apply for in 2-3 years (Seattle/King County Medic One) wants 24 months of 911 experience. Does AMR make me look like a bad candidate? Anyone know of Portland/Columbia Gorge spots that might be better?

Hell AMR will probably pay for it. Most of the paramedic schools that require applications will also prioritize placement for anyone sponsored by an agency.

I could be mistaken (haven’t worked in the King County system but a friend did), but I believe AMR is only BLS 911 in King County and wouldn’t sponsor medic school. Medic One/Seattle Fire handles all ALS.

To answer OP: AMR 911 in King County is a perfect agency to get 911 experience at, and it will not look bad. (It might be a positive too if you have more experience working in their “system” already or use your time to foster connections at Medic One)
