Not so much defense, more like "uhh, yeah, things cost money, inflation exists, welcome to the real world", and I can't disagree honestly. People gotta use an inflation calculator on old games.

This meme does have real "too late, I drew you as the soy cuck and myself as the chad!" energy.

No, but people directing their anger at Nintendo should probably be generalizing their anger towards capitalism in that case.

Nintendo is breaking the norm a bit so I think some anger their way is justifiable, but this is really a symptom of our global financial situation and if you think these price increases would never happen that's very naive imo.
