I "defend" it because I, as a consumer with a functioning brain, can simply choose not to buy a luxury good if I deem it not worth my money.

Admittedly I only got a B in my high school economics class over 20 years ago, and never want to college, so it's entirely possible I simply don't understand any of this.

You can, but if your plan is to complain but buy it anyhow, then all you did was furrow your brow while handing the corporation the money they asked for. Anytime you buy something you are sending the message that you're tacitly okay with paying that price for that product. Instead of turning into internet Karen who wants to speak with the CEO about their prices, talk with your wallet. Don't like the price, don't buy it. Bad sales is how a business knows they're fucking up, not internet chatter.
