I "defend" it because I, as a consumer with a functioning brain, can simply choose not to buy a luxury good if I deem it not worth my money.
Admittedly I only got a B in my high school economics class over 20 years ago, and never want to college, so it's entirely possible I simply don't understand any of this.
I just find people a bit silly that are complaining. Just don't buy the games if you think they're too expensive. There's so many good cheap games nowadays you really didn't miss out on much.
You can, but if your plan is to complain but buy it anyhow, then all you did was furrow your brow while handing the corporation the money they asked for. Anytime you buy something you are sending the message that you're tacitly okay with paying that price for that product. Instead of turning into internet Karen who wants to speak with the CEO about their prices, talk with your wallet. Don't like the price, don't buy it. Bad sales is how a business knows they're fucking up, not internet chatter.
Exactly. If you're so hooked on Nintendo that you NEED to buy the new mario kart, then it sounds like Nintendo is more than justified in increasing the price.
Hell, if it's really unthinkable to you that you'd simply not buy mario kart this time, then maybe the price should be even higher than it is.
You understand how this works. I have had the unfortunate experience reading certain replies here and in other threads that goes beyond just complaining. Certain people seem to think they have a right to consume luxury goods (expensive entertainment in this case), and then encourage piracy and other socially deviant acts when they don't want to pay for said luxary good.
