When you don't understand inflation and the fact that you're not going to buy things today for the same price you paid years ago.
Blaming Nintendo is silly, but easy to do.
-10 u/dominantfrog 1d ago this is over inflation. it shouldn't bankrupt you to enjoy your hobbies, getting a new game every 2 months used to be affordable. getting a weeks worth of groceries shouldnt take half your paycheck 9 u/mikedvb 1d ago $60 in 2006 adjusted for inflation today is $90~92. You don't have to take my word for it though - it's not terribly hard to calculate. So technically you're right - it's not following inflation - it's cheaper than inflation says it should be by about $10. During the PS2/Xbox/GameCube Era [2000-2005] $50 was the common price.
