Politics 👩⚖️ Tim Walz - ”It's like Trump is stuck in the 80s. His music, his clothing, his thinking. I think the biggest myth perpetuated on this country that Donald Trump understands anything about business. He's bankrupted every single one he's been into, and now he's bankrupting this country.“

Politics 👩⚖️ Mn Legislation Awareness: HF3005 (State Funding For Veteran's Meals)
Veterans in the United States have faced some shocking and shameful actions by the current federal administration in an effort to reduce federal spending by eliminating their jobs and reducing their options for healthcare and needed social services.
HF3005 is a bill currently in the MN House that seeks to secure funding to continue to provide home-delivered, nutritious meals to some of Minnesota's nearly 265,000 veterans.
Rep. David Gottfried (Shoreview-District 40b) states in support: “Continued funding right now is more crucial now than ever before as the federal government has reduced funding for senior nutrition coming into this state which has resulted in a 12% cut from last year for Metro Meals on Wheels, which in turn has strained their ability to provide service to everyone who needs it." (Source)
The bill would add $497,500 in fiscal years 2026 and 2027 to continue serving much needed meals to veterans. The funding would maintain current services.
Let your representatives know that you support the continued care and respect that our veterans deserve!
Edit: The title should read Veterans' , I realized 3 seconds after posting. Don't want to rewrite the entire post over it though!

News 📺 Want to feel old? KQ92 announces that 70s music is too old and that they'll focus entirely on the classic rock from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s
https://www.92kqrs.com/2025/04/03/whats-next-for-kqrs-were-glad-you-asked/
I know they didn't directly SAY that "70s music is too old", but that's essentially the message here. They are focusing on stuff that Gen X directly grew up with. And no, that is not Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Black Sabbath....
But yes, you heard it here first, folks. Whatever you were listening to in the 2000s, that's officially "classic rock" material now. Happy Thursday!

Seeking Advice 🙆 Potentially RIF'ed Federal worker local to MN wondering about who is hiring.
So there are about to be quite a few of us coming from USDA into the unemployment market... my question is what is the current job market? Will there be hope for us? I'm a MN born and raised resident and have done my federal job here in MN supporting the state and nation. I'm terrified and have no clue what the job market has in store for me. I'm trying to cope with the fact that I'll likely be tossed into an awful job market.

News 📺 Andover Mayor Comments about La Troquita Del Sur Claim “they are not welcome” in Andover
bringmethenews.comAs usual, things get a little clearer once you get the whole story. This is the Mayors follow up to the story posted here a couple days ago.
TLDR: La Troquita Del Sur didn’t even apply for the necessary permit to operate in Andover after July 31st.
Bring Me The News submitted an information request for all permit applications from La Troquita Del Sur to the City of Andover, and found it did get a permit approved last year to operate for 21 days in the parking lot near G-Will Liquors, and selected 21 days in July 2024 in which to do business.
Since then, no applications have been received from La Troquita Del Sur between the end of its permit on July 31, 2024, and the time it was shut down last week, according to city records.
The food stand had a license to operate in Anoka County in 2024 that expired on Jan. 31, 2025. County documents show that La Troquita Del Sur has obtained a new county license for 2025, but a city permit is still required to operate in Andover.
It’s always that pesky paperwork.

Politics 👩⚖️ The Tom Emmer phone town hall is a disgrace.
Every question asked has been by a clear republican. When asked even a mildly tough question he ignores what he was asked to repeat maga talking points that have nothing to do with the question.
Hell, he just went on a rant about trans kids in sports, tampon tim, and many more lies.
I was in queue the MOMENT it was opened and I wasn't given an opportunity to ask a question. Could it be because I wanted to ask about deportations?
What a joke. Emmer has completely bent over for maga and has no shame in doing so.

Seeking Advice 🙆 HealthPartners/ParkNicollet billing me for someone else’s medical care
Hello! I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this, so please point me in the right direction - I’m just not sure what to do anymore.
I haven’t been to a HealthPartners/ParkNicollet clinic in years - I actually don’t live in MN anymore. Yet I have been receiving monthly email statements for the past several months. I logged back into my old account, and my account has been linked as a “guarantor” to someone else’s insurance. I’m able to see this person’s name, address, contact info, and significant personal medical information. This is, I’m sure, a gross HIPAA violation. To make it worse, this person is a MINOR CHILD.
I called customer service after receiving the very first statement and informed them that this is an error. They assured me they’d take care of it, but I’ve continued receiving statements. I then cold-called the phone number now listed in my account, and I informed the responsible adult/guardian that I had unnecessary access to this child’s personal medical information. They assured me they would contact customer service and get this taken care of. We both expected that it would be a stronger statement if it came from the party whose information was compromised. And yet… I’ve received two more statements since then.
WHAT CAN I DO? I don’t want access to this random kid’s information, and they certainly deserve the medical and personal privacy they’re literally entitled to. Frankly, this breach of confidentiality could lead to some SERIOUS consequences for the kid and their family if this info fell into the wrong hands. I’m kind of concerned that this may be a more pervasive issue and affect others as well. At the same time, I don’t have time to keep going back and forth with customer service.
I’m hoping that bringing some publicity to this gross mismanagement of private medical information can help bring some resolution to the situation. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Discussion 🎤 What are your egg prices at today?
Stopped at the store for a gallon of milk, noticed the egg prices are still high. Tom Emmer was crowing about wholesale egg prices being down on his call last night.
Anyone seeing egg prices go down anywhere?
