Legend says that a pirate nicknamed “one eyed Willy” hid a treasure somewhere over there.

I didn't even need to read where it was. That was immediately where my head went.

Idk if they shot anything on the southern coast. Astoria is on the Washington border

It's more the type rocks, and their form. Also the way the grass just kinda rolls to the shore.

Fun fact: Based on filming locations Willy built one long ass tunnel. You enter in Cannon Beach, OR and exit about 650mi away in Jenner, CA.

That's the northern Oregon coast

I can't wait for you all to fix your relationship with Canada because I so would like to visit again.

Head even further south and take in the giant redwoods. If you’ve never been, your mind will be absolutely blown.

My goal is to go before 2030, any pointers for getting the most out of it?

Fly into San Fransisco, rent a vehicle and get north on the 101 ASAP. follow the 101 until you hit the Columbia River, turn east to Portland. Fly home from Portland.

As a Canadian, the weather in early November was perfect shorts and T-shirt weather. The locals, particularly in Cali, will be in winter jackets but don't mind them.

Fly into Eureka and avoid 5 hours of hell

eh, once you get out of the mess the 101 is still nice up to Eureka and it's an international airport not a regional one so flights are cheaper and rentals more plentiful.

There's one thing missing. Me.

As beautiful as this is, how tf is it "oddly satisfying"?

Please stop showing people the OR Coast.

It totally sucks. Do not go there.

I can see the house where my dogs mom and dad live. And my other dog's 2nd cousin.

What an odd thing to say.

These colours aren't accurate. The ocean isn't this turquoise in OR or N Cal, or even central Cal.

Reminds me a lot of the Northern California coast.

The rugged beauty and serene landscapes of the southern Oregon coast are truly mesmerizing.

Oregon's got more rocks than my grandpa's garden

Beautiful!

No this is a fake pic. Oregon faces the Pacific Ocean and not the Atlantic Ocean. s/

Don't tell CA or NV.

CA has the same exact coast. wtf lol

u/AssPennies 1d ago

CA has a coast to the west. Last I learned, OR doesn't have a coast to the south... it's CA and NV.

I truly have no idea what you’re talking about. Almost the entirety of the CA coast is to the east of the Oregon coast. I just don’t understand the underlying point you’re trying to make. I thought I did. Now I don’t.

u/AssPennies 1d ago

The southern border of OR is not a coast at all, only the western border touches the ocean.

A joke! I get it now. The title made sense to me so your comment was confusing.

Wut

u/AssPennies 11h ago

Oregon southern border is land consisting of CA and NV. Western border is the Pacific Ocean.

Who said anything about borders?

What would you call the southern part of the Oregon coast? How about the Northern part of the California coast? Because we who live here call it the North coast of California and the southern coast of Oregon. No one said anything about borders.

Because we who live here call it the North coast of California and the southern coast of Oregon.

Hold on, what is that?! Ohhhh, we agree then:

southern coast of Oregon != southern Oregon coast

Nevada’s coast is amazing… /s

Argue if you want but it rivals Hawaii coast in beauty.
