Remember when Biden held funding from red states because they didn’t agree with him.

……oh wait that didn’t happen

u/Melodic-Task 1d ago

It didn’t. But they accused him of it. A preemptive confession of what they would do.

Had some rabble rouser telling me this bullshit just yesterday. That it was Biden and Harris still withholding money to South Carolina.

their stupidity made me just stop talking and move on....

The thing that happened in South Carolina is that boots on the ground fema groups were advised to avoid certain areas with roving bands of assholes claiming to be hunting fema.

u/HyruleSmash855 1d ago

And the person who did that was fired for the right reason. The presidential administration had nothing to do with that decision and it was wrong and they allowed the individual to be fired.

u/theo-dour 23h ago

That was North Carolina.

It’s a combination of two stories. In North Carolina, right-wing extremists showed up and at least one of them spoke of “hunting FEMA.” This disrupted operations for several days and led to a lot of confusion and panic. The second story was out of Florida, where a FEMA team leader advised her staff to avoid houses with Trump paraphernalia. She was promptly fired.

Yes, not South Carolina.

3

u/JarJarJarMartin 20h ago

Not disagreeing, just clarifying because of other comments in this same thread that seem to be conflating the two separate stories.

1

u/theo-dour 20h ago

I get ya. Thanks. I have certainly heard the stories conflated as well. So much false info out there.

The irony being that Biden wanted to send more aid but the Republican congress withheld the funding to make him look bad.

33

u/Ill_Technician3936 1d ago

You should have told them DOGE cut FEMA.

Fox News ran a weeks worth of propaganda pieces about Biden not helping people in North Carolina even though it was all bullshit. The last thing a Democrat president would do is withhold disaster relief. Democrats literally have to drag Republicans along kicking and screaming to even pass disaster funding measures.

3

u/mypoliticalvoice 17h ago

The affected Republican governors even gave press briefings where they praised the rapid response of the Biden administration.

“Democratic president.” Don’t let the right co-opt our language now. It matters that Democrats are both big D Democratic and small D democratic right now.

If I remember correctly, NC was given funding and needed more around the time California also received funding for the wildfire disaster. I remember seeing comments asking about NC funding, as if they were being neglected. It seemed like a separate issue, in my mind, not a red state vs blue state issue.

Always with the projection. Broken record

8

u/Ill_Technician3936 1d ago

It's not broken... Just more gets stuck in certain loops.

Projection, Fake News, blaming previous administration that had nothing to do with, denying it was illegal.

Every accusation is a confession.

The congress member who was most loud about Biden not doing things, while he was doing everything he could, is Virginia Fox

She lives in an area where the road was washed out by Hurricane Helene. She has a private road, her neighbors asked to use her road to escape and she said no. Law enforcement asked to use her road to help isolated people, she said no. She’s an evil woman.

1

u/Rush_Is_Right 12h ago

Law enforcement asked to use her road to help isolated people

Do you have a source on this? I'd think law enforcement could use it anyways in a state of emergency. Just like they can run through my backyard chasing a suspect.

It doesn’t talk about the law enforcement part, and does make them all look a little bad. But an active criminal chase is different than a convenience thing.

It’s more than that. They’re priming their base so that when they do this, they feel justified. They see it as reciprocal, like his bogus tariffs.

6

u/golden_eel_words 1d ago

The constant projection is starting to make me wonder if they're also eating the dogs and eating the cats and eating the pets of the people who live here.

146

u/Bazillion100 1d ago

The shit for brains even shot at them. How the fuck do you deprogram a cult of millions this fucking dumb?

54

u/staticzon 1d ago

After ww2 there was mass reeducation for Germans. Something like that I’d presume

30

u/RolandTwitter 1d ago

"Education camps?! Literally Hitler!"

proceeds with overthrowing democracy

26

u/Proto-tagonist 1d ago

They would also have to completely dismantle Murdoch Media and all the other propaganda plants which are purely meant to transform people into this.

9

u/joshdoereddit 1d ago

That's what I believe needs to happen. They can whine about the First Amendment, but right-wing media has done serious damage to our national discourse.

I'm all for media with a conservative bent, bit what Fox, OANN, Newsmax, and others do is just plain wrong. And it's bullshit that Fox will claim in lawsuits that they aren't actually news. They willing lie and misrepresent reality to further the fascist agenda. They all helped foment January 6th. IAMNAL, but from my point of view, what these media sources do is not that different from shouting fire in a crowded theater.

2

u/dude2dudette 1d ago

And it didn't even work well.

For many, many years after WW2, German opinions of Jewish people, and whether what Hitler did was wrong was still incredibly fascist in nature. In the early 1950s, 5+ years after WW2, you still had a full 1/3 of Germany think that Hitler was correct. In 1952, 25% of Germans thought the Neuenburg Trials were unfair

The department of education is currently mid-demolition, but maybe some future America will have education again...

6

u/Tmscott 1d ago

Go back in time and don't fuck up The Reconstruction

I’d be privileged to give to John Brown all the firepower he needs

I acknowledge how boomers are more susceptible to misinformation and unequipped to deal with our current political climate but you and I should not take off our eyes from the real issue, wealth inequality

16

u/demons_soulmate 1d ago

remember when Biden called ron desantis after the hurricanes in Florida to offer support and desantis bragged about not answering the call? and Biden still sent assistance because he's not a heartless partisan asshole?

12

u/NobodyImportant13 1d ago

Yeah, but Biden was controlling the weather and sent the hurricane to Florida right before the election. We wouldn't even need FEMA if Biden would stop sending hurricanes to red states /s

2

u/Colddeck64 Arizona 22h ago

He has Cobra Commander’s weather dominator

3

u/matthieuC Europe 1d ago

> oh wait that didn’t happen

Give it a week and Fox will make republicans believe all Democrat Presidents since Roosevelt did it

2

u/saposapot Europe 1d ago

But Fox News probably said he did it

2

u/Irapotato 1d ago

He should have.

1

u/noisy123_madison 23h ago

But both sides.

1

u/T8ert0t 22h ago

People also forget this idiot did the same thing during COVID.

1

u/charts_and_farts 21h ago

No, but Bush did to the blue state hit hardest in the Katrina aftermath (Louisiana, vs their response to Mississippi). Truly a grand old party.

1

u/seenitreddit90s 19h ago

Didn't he actually create loads of jobs for red states and massively improved the Texan electrical grid with renewables?

1

u/Pirate_the_Cat 1d ago edited 1d ago

First, I’d like to see the proof.

Second, whether someone else did or didn’t is a moot point. Trump is his own person. Also, didn’t he run on the premise of not being like “other” politicians? Wouldn’t that make him worse off for following the example of a politician, and even more so from the other party? What kind of justification is that? Do better. You can’t blame Biden for everything.

North Carolina

What FEMA money did Biden withhold from North Carolina?
