That's a big part of these tariffs people dont get.

They are effectively bargain/bribe/threat tools that are under the control of the executive branch only which allows him to bypass Congress.

It would require a veto vote of Congress, would be all of the Dems and a large majority of the Republicans which isn't going to happen because they do as theyre told.

Even if it did pass without that veto majority, the POTUS said he'd veto it.

So if a vote does happen, watch who votes no. They're absolutely complicit in all of this.

And they only will vote no if they realize as midterms get closer that they will be voted out.

So do they do as trump says and go down with the ship? Or vote to say their own sorry asses that allowed this to happen.

Tariff power of the executive is supposed to be an emergency power for fixing emergencies, not creating them.

Yeah, Trump made up an "emergency" and then just started doing things completely unrelated to the "emergency" he declared. It's blatantly invalid but the GOP is going to back him regardless.
