Hey, I posted about a week ago about not having space available for working on cars, I've been thinking about this problem a lot - actually researching solutions for urban enthusiasts without garage access. If you have 2 minutes, I'd really value your input on this brief survey: https://buildpad.io/research/WyZQr6k

I was going to v8 swap my 97 v6 but i decided against it for cost. I found this on marketplace and decided to buy it. Paid $800, it ran with an external fuel pump and 5 gallon bucket of gas connected. Transmission linkage is busted. Frame and strut towers need attention due to being a car from utah. But hey, I got a running 5.0 for a decent price. I’m extremely excited for this car. It has some aftermarket pieces, bbk cai, bbk shorty headers, x pipe. Just focused on getting the body and interior looking good now and worrying about the rest later. This is my favorite interior on any of the mustangs, and no major parts need replacing inside. My plans for the car are basically a nice daily that will turn a few heads. thanks for checking it out

With this fuel line I'm ready to prime the system, fill the fluids, and stab the disbutor. Hoping to hear it run Wednesday/Thursday.

So when do holes get to big to be patched and when is the time to start pricing out a welding machine?
I’ve got my floor pan wire bushed down and have found quite a few spots rusted through. Is there a way to plug the isolated holes? I know the clusters probably need to be cut out and a new piece welding in. Just looking for some guidance and solutions, thanks in advance

Hello,
I feel like I've seen a site that let you compare seat widths based on a model year search, similar to this site: https://www.body-swaps.com/, but focused on front and rear seats. Have not been able to find again. Anyone have a link by chance?
Thanks,

Looking at some used chargers, and came across a 2010 Pursuit, which I know can be beaten to hell by the police, or could be idling hours. Regardless, I came across one in decent shape, guy said he parked it over the winter and went to fire it up and came up with a Cylinder 3 misifire. Now, im not a noob when it comes to buying used cars so I know to take what seller say with a grain of salt, and usually there is more issues than they tell. So im aware of that. But I have done a little research on the misfires with these, and it could be a simple fix to an engine replacement. The question comes, would you just pass or look at the engine a bit? How do you gauge what to do when a problem could run the gammit from quick to close your eyes and cry? lol. My initial thought was hard pass, but im new to the project world so wanted peoples opinions.

Can you gravity bleed a brake booster? I have done lines in the past. I need to bleed my entire system as it is brand new. Figured this would be easier than bench bleeding. Thanks!

Hello,
I'm a guy in my late 20s and I've always loved classic Porsches. I'm thinking of getting a Porsche 914 for somewhere around 12-15k euros. I've seen some cars in decent shape but I know the 914s have the invisible rust issue, where they may be rotten inside and look good on the outside.
I consider myself mechanically skilled, I'm mechanical engineering and do 3d printing, metal casting and machining of miniature engines, but I never worked on welding cars.
I'm thinking of buying a MIG set as well as a 3d scanner, so I can scan the car and manufacture the pieces that are rotten and weld them in place. I don't want a museum quality car, but something that is structurally safe and can be improved upon.
How much money and time should I expect to spend on the process of doing body work considering it needs some cutting and welding? (Excluding the initial price of the welding kit as well as the scanner)
I would appreciate some examples of how many hours and how much money it took you to work on your cars

I’m a senior in high school about to graduate and I really want to get a project car to mess around with and give me something to do while I chug through community college.
I really want a sports car that can take corners real well that I can find realistically under $7000
Any recommendations?

Prepping for the next phase of my project and my goal was putting it on a rotisserie but forking out $2k for one, even knowing I can sell it for $1.5k when I am done, bothers me.
As an alternative I have a 4x8 beam that spans 12' between posts that would work well to suspend my car from. its an MGB shell, so it weighs like 500lbs. A few pillow block bearings, weld a round bar to square bar to bumper mount, and a tackle block with various attachments would be all it takes to float the shell and let me rotate it around its axis.
Anyone else done something like this? For $300 I could have my spinning shell and when I am done it all breaks down easily.
