Question CDDA Fire Spread - Can it be stopped?
I'm over a month into a CDDA run which is my best so far and the main issue I have at the moment (other than being severely underweight...) is the initial fire from the start hasn't stopped and I'd like to loot around the area the fire currently is but I also don't want the fire to spread any further.
My previous run (which was my best up to that point), I died after 3.5 days due to the fire spreading and burning literally everything, including me in my sleep. I moved bases 4x and the fire followed me to each one because the houses were in close proximity and I didn't realise the fire spread was that bad (and I didn't zoom out far enough to see the fire was still burning that close). I learned after that death that the fire doesn't spread if you're not in the area but it also doesn't stop, so if you enter the area again the fire will still be going and could spread further.
So in this run, I've stayed far enough away from the fire and it has been contained (I've drawn on my map roughly the outline of where I can't go past before I start the see the fire again) and so far, so good. I wanted to know though, is there any way of stopping this fire or am I just going to have to completely avoid that area of my map forever? If it rains, can I go near the fire and the rain will put the fire out?

The only real solution is waiting for a rainstorm to come back with fire extinguishers, so you can put out any possible indoor fires that the rain doesn't get. If you don't, it just starts again.
