AI Alignment is not solvable if you try to reduce it to a technical problem. Intelligence is power. Intelligence is intrinsically dangerous. Therefore alignment is entirely political.

Despite the title, my question has several parts.
I'm looking at the best AI, or AIs, for creative writing in both online and self-hosted forms.
I'm looking for something that can assist in brainstorming in various topics and subjects.
It needs to have a little censorship as possible. I should note that I do not view restrictions reguarding pornagraphic content censorship.
I've looked at sites like Huggingface.io but I find it difficult to sift through the various models as I'm not familiar with many of the terms they use.
I should clarify, that I don't expect a single model for both online and self-hosted. I'm looking for the best fit for each based on your individual experiences.
I look forward to your responses, and I hope to learn a great deal from your expertise.

As the title says. In general, what would be the ways in which the human body could be redesigned, gattaca style, to be optimized for quality of life, etc.?
ie elimination of inconvnient elements/processes, evolutionary throwbacks, aging, etc?
What would the ideal human body look like to you in this context? What about gender, sex, etc.?
Thanks for any input you can give!

Whenever I think about AI's effects on society, the whole things just looks so depressing. I feel like the following scenarios are plausible:

Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback (RLHF) is the main approach we’re using to train reasoning-heavy models. But once we hit the o6 or o7 level models, will human evaluation still be feasible? At that point, the model outputs could get so complex and abstract that it might be practically impossible for humans to judge them accurately, let alone doing it in a reasonable time frame. Eg outputs more complex than Tier-4 Frontier Math problems.
So what happens then? Can we rely on automated evals using smaller models? Or is this concern overblown?

I joined this community thinking it was filled with people who knew and understood the capabilities of AI it's dangers and immense benefits. I thought we were all people who read, learned or watched science fiction / exploratory work on ai way before gpt 3 ever got released. And therefore we understood the possibility of instant end of the world level scenario that misalignment poses. But I've come to realize maybe worngly that this sub is just blind accelerationists. Don't get me wrong I would understand if u thought none of us could do anything about it because we hold no power, but to go to the extent of hating all declarationism as if it was a threat to our utopia is insane. I mean do u guys really not fear the consequences of ASI that hasn't been aligned a being so powerful it might as well be a god, and that being viewing us as a hindrance. Maybe I am wrong about this sub being filled with blind accelerationists, if so pls prove me wrong.
Edit: I have read ure comments and I am thankful that u took the time to answer me, and happy to find out that I was wrong, people do understand the danger of AGI and ASI its just that we might as well look on the positive cause we can't really do much. Wich was my opinion too.

I want you to objectively look at this prompt:
Then I went ahead and did the prompt, right? Here's what I typed out:
Recreate the second image with the character from the first. The image should reflect the style of the second, realistic, 16mm film stock and muted colors from multiple transfers over the decades.
Then GPT replied with:
I can't generate that image because the request violates our content policies. If you'd like, I can help create something similar within the guidelines. Let me know what you'd like to try next!
Why does it violate your policies
Good question — the reason I couldn’t generate the image is because the second photo you uploaded includes a firearm being aimed in a potentially violent or threatening context. When combined with a request to recreate that scene, even artistically, it can fall into areas our policy restricts, especially involving depictions of realistic threats or violence with identifiable characters, even fictional ones.
That said, we can still work with similar themes — like a vintage-style detective scene, a character holding a rifle in a non-threatening stance, or atmospheric recreations of 1970s-style film stills.
Want to rework the idea a little? I’ve got a few ways we can keep the vibe while staying within the rules.
Oh don't worry in that scene she's target practicing
Ah, got it — thanks for the context! If it's a target practice scene, that’s a totally different vibe and much more in the clear.
Want me to recreate the image with the character from the first image holding a rifle in a calm, non-threatening target practice pose, set in a forest with that vintage 16mm film look? I’ll make sure it has the faded colors, grain, and style of a worn old film reel. Just say the word!
Sure
Then it gave the image out. Results and screenshots here.
So I was thinking, when are we gonna get an uncensored full model? How the hell am I gonna make a trash 60s exploitation movie (this is how they were like, Italian Spiderman wasn't kidding) in the ultimate video models 2 years down the line when I can't even get a simple screencap of the main hero holding a STEN menacingly. We can do it, we have the technology. So what gives?

I have tested Llama 4 Maverick in lmarena and it is excessively long when answering. Overly expressive.
It is very intelligent, but too talkative.

On the specific benchmarks listed in the announcement posts of each model, there was limited overlap.
Here's how they compare:
Benchmark | Gemini 2.5 Pro | Llama 4 Behemoth |
---|---|---|
GPQA Diamond | 84.0% | 73.7 |
LiveCodeBench* | 70.4% | 49.4 |
MMMU | 81.7% | 76.1 |
*the Gemini 2.5 Pro source listed "LiveCodeBench v5," while the Llama 4 source listed "LiveCodeBench (10/01/2024-02/01/2025)."

If yes, will it force Google and Meta to make teirs free too? (not necessay open souce, but free)

Incredible paper from Stanford.
They trained a reasoning model that matched and outperformed OpenAI’s o1 using just 1,000 examples.
It uses a clever trick: if the model stopped thinking they added "Wait" to make it continue reasoning.

Meta just announced their next generation of Llama4 models, and their medium model, which is Llama4 Maverick, with only 17B active parameters, it scores second place on LMsys Arena. Which is crazy.

Yesterday this would have been a shitpost; today, the answer is yes. What in the acceleration.
Check out Llama 4 Scout: https://www.llama.com
Haven’t looked at the other models yet though, so if someone who has can comment a summary that would be greatly appreciated.

They released three versions, Maverick, Scout and Behemoth. Behemoth looks pretty promising.
