My wife and I were having a discussion about who is the household name for snowboarding. Think Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Christiano Ronaldo, Tom Brady, Nyjah Huston, etc.
Our first thought was Shaun White. Then the conversation went into the culture of snowboarding and what classifies you as a great? Is it representing your country on a big stage? winning competitions? âsteezeâ or overall style?
Who do you think?

I am a die hard for these boots, they are my absolute favorite. Iâve looked and checked everywhere. No luck. Soo if anyone knows of a pair of womenâs size 9 of these boots or where to get some I would be indebt forever!
I hope everyoneâs season is wrapping up nicely. Too bad it canât last forever..

Hi, my 7 year old has been snowboarding since she was three and she's really good. She likes tree runs and going top speed down groomers and is getting more into steep powder runs (I'm so proud!). She likes jumps but isn't big into the park.
Now, most of the gear out there is pretty beginner and I'm a bit worried the board and bindings are too soft. We're looking at the Gnu Recess 110cm board with either the Burton Small Jr. bindings or Bent Metal BMX bindings. Does anyone have experience with these bindings or have a different recommendation.
Thank you!

Anywhere but the US, which resort would you pick?
I haven't been to many, but Banff Sunshine is up there on my list. Long season, guaranteed good snow, cool town, free shuttle from town to hill.

Hoping to spend a month or two at Mt. Hood in early summer and looking for a relatively affordable place to stay - does anyone have recommendations for finding a place?
Don't need anything fancy - ideally a room in a house, or potentially a bed in a shared room if it was the right situation. Ideally in Govy, or even Mount Hood Village/Welches area. I have a few loose leads (ski camps that may rent beds out if they have space) but that's all pretty last minute, and I'd like to lock something down.
I would just camp, but I work remotely and need easy access to a a shower, wifi, etc.
Thanks in advance!

We're both beginners to snowboarding, got our start at Big White just over a month ago, and will be getting up for our 8th day today (closing day)! Trying to make the most of the season, we're also planning to hit Sun Peaks next weekend for their closing weekend - will be our first time there. Based on what we've enjoyed at Big White, please recommend runs or areas that we'll enjoy at Sun Peaks. At Big White, we've done all the runs off of Bullet and Black Forest chairs - including all the blues. We really enjoy the blues off black forest (Bears Paw/Herbert's Hollow/Whisky Jack), and would love to find an area of Sun Peaks that's similar to that.
Looking at the Sun Peaks map, I'm thinking the Sundance express might be a good area to hang out? Is it worth taking Sunburst/Crystal to get up top, or will we have more fun just crushing all the runs off Sundance?
Part of me wants to cross off my first black before the end of the season - how bad are Spillway or Peek A Boo? They don't look too bad in videos, but nothing ever does :D

Found this double sided Scotty Wittlake DC promo poster my local skateshop(at the time, RIP) gave me one day circa 2000. When searching online I see others like it but without his photo in the top left. Does anyone know anything about this and possible value if any??

I am considering getting a gnu banked country. I'm 6'2 185 with size 11 snowboard boot. I'm torn between the 160W or the 163W. I love charging hard on the mountain, finding all the pow, and dabbling in trees. I had a 158 excavator for the past 2 years that I finally broke. (Almost 200 days on mountain) The 163w matches the 158 excavator waist width. But I'm wondering if 163 is too much for trees.. or do I just get another excavator

I got a new board this season and I already damaged it (Managed to ride my old board for 14 years without any damage excluding scratches to the base).
I cut some base material out hoping that i could bend the edge back to roughly the right place. But now using my pliers I am worried that I'll just rip more of it out trying to bend it.
Could i try to heat it somehow? But I doubt getting it to a temp high enough to make difference is really possible.
Another option would be to replace the damaged steel. But I can't find anywhere that sells edge material.
Anyone got any tips?

Hey
During the last tour, unfortunately, I stepped into a hole while ascending, which caused the step-in to exert an extreme amount of pressure on the board at a specific point. As a result, the surface of the board cracked at that spot, and part of the wood core also split.
I still used the board for two more descents, but the stability at that spot has weakened.
Can such damage be repaired with epoxy resin, and should I remove the damaged part of the wood core and fill it with epoxy resin, or should I just seal the crack as best as possible?

What area is the best in Japan for steep off piste powder without guide/out of bounds transportation? Ideally this area is either very large (interconnected resorts) or less crowded so that powder isn't tracked out fast. Also if it is fairly well priced, what out of bounds powder snowboarding is the best bang for buck?

Iâm trying to buy a carving snowboard for my boyfriendâs birthday, but donât know too much about snowboards. Would the Capita Outerspace Living snowboard be a good option for carving for someone advanced? Are there any other Capita recommendations for carving? Also- would the 156cm or 158cm board be okay if heâs 5â11? Thank you!!!
