News Vail Resorts stock at a 9 year low.

This morning I checked Vail Resorts (MTN) stock price. It was at a new 9 year low of just over $134 per share.

I also saw that Late Apex (Investment firm) had written another scathing letter to Vail Resorts Management chastising their poor performance. https://www.lateapexpartners.com/vailadalta

cold brewski in the sun after shredding the whole morning, best feeling in the world. Only sad thing is that the season is almost over (but the next one will come soon hopefully!)

general discussion Can you progress much at snowboarding age 39+ ?

Hey, long story short...

In 2011 I walked into a bar in France and instantly fell in love with the barmaid.

She was one of the top female snowboarders there and did eight seasons.

I was a dude who worked in corporate and wanted to escape.

I instantly wanted to marry her. But she was in another world.

I swore that one day I would return to the mountains.

At 32 I quit corporate, moved to Australia and started an online business.

We started to talk. Sometimes for hours.

I moved to Bali and then Portugal — where she'd moved too.

One day I told her how I felt and discovered she felt the same way too.

We met — a decade later — and were instantly together.

I'm now 39.

My business has FINALLY taken off. Big time.

We can spend three months every season from now on living in the Alps.

I train 1-2 hours a day and I'm physically very strong, with excellent cardio.

I only have around three months of total snowboarding experience — but I have a LOT of general board-riding experience (eg. skating) under my belt, plus a lot of martial arts.

Can I progress much at 40+?

I'm not under any illusions about park — I'm mainly interested in freeride/off-piste.

I have everything I could have ever asked for from life.

It's just happened a bit later than I might have hoped for!

Thank you x

OC Video I'll miss Keystone.... but no more feeding the 'Beast'.

After so many years riding Keystone with the Epic Local and more recently the low priced Keystone Plus pls pass, it's time to leave the Vail Resorts 'beast' behind and support the independent resorts. May be it's time to switch to Loveland Ski area. Yes it's smaller, yes it's freezing cold at the top of chair 9, but they typically get more snow than keystone and they have some nice open beautiful terrain.

I'll miss you Keystone.

OC Video Erik Leon FS 360 from GO-EN

If I had to choose one moment that captured the soul of this film, it would be this clip. Not just because of how it turned out, or because I got to strap in and follow cam, but because this was the very first clip we stacked in Japan and the start of an unforgettable ten day journey that would become something bigger than we imagined. There was a feeling in the air that day something quiet but powerful. It set the tone. It lit the fuse. And from there, everything else unfolded.

The full short film is now live: https://youtu.be/pxyWfGga8rM

Riding question Broken collarbone

Those who have broken your collarbone, did it heal 100% enough to ride with no problem. And did you get surgery on it. I broke mine on Monday and I'm wondering if this is gonna affect me in the long run.

Gear question Full gear recs?

Hey guys I went snowboarding for the first time this year and had a blast but my gear was shit. I got a board off facebook marketplace knowing nothing, first day had a random instructor on the baby slopes tell me to make it a coffee table. It f’ing wrecked me, I ended up renting a board for the last few days ( A K2) and it was sooo much better and the bindings were much easier to use, and then on the last day my soles from my boots came undone….

So needless to say I’m looking for a good board, binding, and boot recommendation. I’m a college student so websites or places to get used gear would be great. I’m 5’10 and 155 and have no clue what size to get.

also here’s a pic of my crappy board

general discussion Natural Selection Alaska 2025?

Ok, Am I crazy or did Red Bull scrub their schedule and site of all information regarding a Natural Selection event in Alaska for snowboarding? I could have sworn they had it scheduled to occur around the same time as the ski tour event aired, but now I am unable to find anything that indicates there was even an event planned in the first place. This seems like an odd and unfortunate shift, because the Alaska event (Selkirks/ Tangiers last year) was such a good event that really showcased the big mountain riding these pros are capable of. Anybody have any information or news on what happened or am I living in the Matrix rn?

Gear question Something stiffer and more directional

Hey, I'm looking for a new board, something more aggressive and stiffer board for carving and maybe powder. I'm looking for a directional board. At the time I'm riding an true twin park board (Salomon Huck Knife 24/25), it's a really nice board but I want a board for some aggressive carving action! I hope you can help me

Gear question Jones Flagship vs. Super D.O.A

I currently own a Capita Ultra Fear and a Capita Slush Slasher. I am interesting in getting a better daily driver all mountain snowbird. I'm between the Super D.O.A and Jones Flagship. I don't ride much park these days. I am fairly aggressive a do some back country. Would love some advice from people who have ridden either!

EDIT: Wow. Flagship it is…. Everyone seems to love it!

Gear question Salomon Craft vs Capita Outerspace Living?

I’m a beginner snowboarder, have gone 7 times this season and it’s my first season. I mainly used a rental board all season, but got my own boots and bindings

I’m 6’1, 170lb with a size 11.5

I was confused between 2 boards - Salomon Craft and the Capital Outerspace Living

Salomon Craft is 160W

Capita Outerspace Living is 159W

Does anyone have any recommendations on which out of the 2 I should get. I’m pretty basic still, barely managing to link my turns. These boards looked good with CamRock profiles and getting a really good deal at Evo (roughly 310$ for either of them)

Looking for tips or any recommendations if any.

Gear question What snowboard should i get as a beginner?

This was my first season snowboarding and had a rental board for the season. I went about 7 times this season and still a beginner. Can slowly link my turns, but not super confident still.

Looking to buy a new board now that the season is coming to an end and all the discounts have started popping up.

I already bought boots and bindings, have the burton step ons, so just looking to get a board to complete the setup.

Any recommendations for good beginner-intermediate boards that i could use for a couple of seasons?

I'm 6'1, 170lb and rode a 159cm board this season
