New Whip Back in a WRX - I really thought I was settling for this car.
I’ve been in the car market for about 8 months and I’ve been casually looking for a new sporty car. I took my time and was cross shopping numerous cars. I had been dailying an EV for a few years due to work, but was finally able to get into something fun again. I had a VA WRX when I was younger and I loved it (picture attached).
I was not a fan of the VB and thought Subaru did not improve on the car for this generation. Well, this all changed after I had a deal fall on my lap. A Premium with Harmon Kardon system and sunroof for 5.5k off MSRP. I thought that I’d settle for this car, since the deal was so good. After test driving, I instantly connected to the car and realized how much of a better car this was than the VA. I still loved my VA, but I really had to mod it for me to enjoy it more. I find that I am enjoying the VB in its stock form.
Anyways, happy to be back in a fun car again. Plan on adding minor OEM+ mods, but nothing major. This car is plenty fun it’s stock form, and I intend to keep it going for a long time.
New Whip WRX tS
Sharing the only two pictures I have of my 2025 WRX tS. Picked it up, drove it for 5 miles, and dropped off for PPF. Can’t wait for pickup this Friday and to start the tortuous break-in!

OEM vs GR Group N Crossmember Bushings Plus JDM Group N Transmission Mount, Illuminati Confirmed.
Finally got around to swapping these shits over. Trans mount is as you would expect, the rubber is harder and it has a cute little STI logo on the side. I believe quite a few already run this guy so no surprises.
The main show, however, is the GR Group N crossmember bushings (part number ST41022ZR000). As you can see, the OEM units are basically freshly chewed bubblegum. I don’t have a durometer or anything, but as can be seen in the pictures I’m exerting MORE force to bend the Group N bushings. The thicc boi I was about shaking trying to curl and it barely moved. Also showing side-by-side shots to verify dimensions are the same. All shots include STI parts on the left, OEM on the right. Really excited to take it out for a drive and get a feel for it. I’ll update with initial impressions.
Also, for funsies, included side by side shots of my OEM vs STI short throw I swapped at the same time. I believe this is well documented, but note how the lever is positioned closer to the driver, the shift/reverse lockout cable holes are offset, there’s a cute little STI logo, and the baseplate has a protrusion to allow for extra clearance for the shift lever.

Question Tire decision time
So it's finally time to replace the stuck summer tires on the car and while I got a good use out of them but I'm not paying 300+per tire. Does anyone have experience with any of these tires? Both Bridgestones are dated 2022 but I figured it took 3 years to need new tires that's fine. While I've heard great things about the Continentals the price of the Bridgestones wants me to take the risk.

Discussion Trade-in Value of the WRX 2022+ went up
Back in 2024, I had my first baby boy! Very glad, but at the time I was considering selling my 2022 Subaru WRX GT (commuter car) and trading it in for a Dodge Durango 392 to lug around the family and still have some power. So I went on a spree to determine the best value I would get for the car. Low and behold, I found out that the highest value a dealership would provide for trade-in value was between 23k-26k max. Backstory, I financed the WRX back in early 2023 of course and would have been in the hole for 5k at the time of searching for another car. Decided it was not worth it, and so I used the money I would have put toward the other car and made the WRX more aesthetically pleasing for myself.
I just got an email from Carvana saying that the value of my WRX went up to nearly 29k which is actually more than what I owe. I think that this may be due to either the new Tariffs imposed, by more demand for our cars, or some other factor I cannot determine.
What do you all think and is this the same for the Manual Transmission versions as well?

Question DRL wiring - I’m stumped
Bought the JDM fog bezels and the harness doesn’t connect in any way to the factory harness. What am I missing? 24 Premium. Pics 1&2 are from the drl, 3 is the factory connection. Do I need a different connector to make this work?
Question Clutch Vibration
Has anyone else here experienced vibration in the clutch pedal at low mileage? I’m at 6100 miles and just started experiencing vibration in the pedal at the bite point (probably 800 miles ago). The clutch honestly feels fine and it is engaging fine, no slippage or anything, but I have 9 hours left tomorrow on a 45 hour road trip and want to gauge what is going on. Is this normal for the car?
I refuse to believe I’ve destroyed my bearing or the clutch yet, I’ve been driving responsibly and don’t ride the clutch.

Anybody running a budget build with painted off-make 17" rims? (Honda/Mazda/Toyota?) Got pics?
Hey all.
I'm Canadian and our wheel prices are insane. As are our potholes, which is why I'll be selling or trading my 18's the second I get the car to take a photo to list them. Not much, maybe $1000.
I can see in my area roughly what they'll sell for, and I know any 17's I buy new, with tires, will run me about $2500. I can save $1500 of that by buying some clean factory Alloys from a Camry or Accord ($150-$250 for 4 in good shape locally, lots listed).
Just asking if anybody with a more rally spec build has any photos of their non OE...OE rims, whether you run them as winters or what have you.
Thanks! (Legit though, rims the Americans buy for $175 a corner sell for $350+ up here, even cheap aftermarkets will cost me a good deal more than what you are buying fancy stuff for.., before shipping and duties depending on where you find them from.
Just exploring options. My wife will drive a 40 series tire into a pothole within the first 100km, no doubt about it.. You should see the rims on her Mirage, basically square (I mean I did a few of the dents too though, no shade)
