Form check 64kg pause snatch form check
Full speed & slo-mo.
How's my bar path?
I tend to fail snatch by losing the bar forward in the hole and those times it feels forward in the turnover too. I've been addressing my start position (got into a bad habit of looking down and likely not extending my back in the setup) & trying to focus on not bumping the bar out with my hips. Hopefully speed under the bar comes with time & confidence.
Current snatch PB is 75kg.
Training history is almost a decade of powerlifting, CrossFit since 2020 and a focus on WL since Nov last year. First WL comp I just hit powers, second WL comp a few weeks ago I hit 72/110. Only fail was my third snatch, 76, which I lost forward.
I should be able to start accessing in person technique coaching soon, when the WL classes (with a WL coach, Eddie Halstead) at the gym change times to ones I can make.

News Karlos Nasar and the upcoming European championship - 2.0
As a sort of response to my previous post here, I would like to announce, albeit with a slight delay, that on April 2, 2025, Karlos officially announced that he will participate in the European Championship in Moldova and is expected to lift in his new category – up to 96 kg. In recent days, various information has circulated regarding the health status of Karlos Nasar. To clarify, I would like to present the facts.
- After undergoing an MRI, it was determined that Karlos has a torn labrum in his shoulder – an injury that likely occurred during one of the Bundesliga competitions before the Olympics. Subsequently, he consulted two specialists from Germany, who had differing opinions on the best way to recover.
- The first doctor recommended surgery, followed by a recovery period of 6 to 9 months.
- The second firmly opposed surgical intervention and suggested intensive physiotherapy, conditioning exercises, and massages for optimal recovery. After being assured by the second doctor that recovery could proceed successfully without surgery, the option for surgical intervention was dismissed.
- According to his recommendations, Karlos was to follow this regimen for at least 12 weeks, which meant he would miss the European Championship.
- But as we all know, Karlos Nasar has repeatedly proven his incredible ability to recover faster than expected. Driven by his extraordinary will to win and unwavering spirit, he felt ready and decided to face yet another challenge. Despite the limited time for competitive preparation, Karlos does not compromise and trains hard.

very new to learning any types of olympic lifts, this is 50kg for 3x3. if it even matters, is this disproportionately light? my back squat pr is 115. should i program different rep ranges? any advice is awesome, like for example i noticed myself landing on my toes for the first rep, is that bad?

Equipment Recommendations for 0.5inch heel shoes
I’m a powerlifter, not a weightlifter, but figured I would have more luck asking on this sub. Looking for heels to squat in but I find the normal 0.75inches to be too high.
I know the savaleos and adidas powerlifts are both 0.5inches, but I’ve read that neither of them are really ideal for heavy squats because the sole can be pretty squishy unfortunately. Wondering if there are any better options out there.

Form check Clean form check (beginner). Please critique
I feel like I’m catching the bar awkwardly and going forward. I’m also feeling like my arms are too slow to get under the bar. I’m trying to perfect my squat clean, would love some tips.

Programming Knees out in snatch/clean setup for long femur lifters?
I came across a video of Eoin Murphy from Sika Strength coaching Zack Telander on his Olympic lifts, and at 3:40 in the video you can see where he coaches him to NOT drive the knees out in the set-up. This seems to be contrary to what I've heard everywhere else, though his logic seems sound. Gregg Everett from Catalyst Athletics coaches knees out in the set-up for literally everyone, not just taller lifters. Both of these coaches are very experienced, so I'm just curious as to what people's thoughts are on this topic.
https://youtu.be/ndAb6hq5DEI?si=E9DDTCjYYh-4CVnb
And for reference, here's a video from Catalyst Athletics saying the exact opposite of Sika Strength.
