i don’t think these two things are mutually exclusive… he represents opulent wealth, bigotry, a disregard for “political correctness” i.e. basic compassion, and folks think it will benefit them financially to side with him (even though his recent tariffs are going to fuck everyone). it’s inflammatory and attention grabbing to express support for him so people think it’s funny to say so. pretty pathetic IMO

it’s because unfortunately, US politics have a massive influence on other countries, especially right now as trump has just placed and increased tariffs on tons of countries. we have military bases all over the world.

to be fair, the mood improvement could also be the other herbs i’ve been incorporating but honestly ill take anything that helps any part of the experience. chamomile and lemon balm are also good for emotional balance so maybe try throwing those in!

yes yes yessss. i’ve smoked blue lotus and in smaller quantities it’s fine but wouldn’t suggest a joint loaded with it. i like a mixture of rose petal, lavender, lemon balm. also love marshmallow leaf but it can be tricky to get it burn nicely, in my experience.

i’ve been drinking or smoking it around 2 weeks prior to my period. lately i’ve started experiencing PMDD symptoms 10–11 days before i even start bleeding 😭

yeah, smoking it is a game changer!! for some reason it’s easier for me to roll up a little herbal joint than commit to drinking tea every day. i love tea but i think the muscle memory of smoking is just extra soothing lol. i haven’t heard about saffron!!

ya’ll. i’ve been consistently drinking raspberry leaf tea (with nettles & lemon balm) and also rolling my own herbal cigarettes with raspberry leaf and it has been a game changer. i still experienced some of my usual PMDD symptoms but not nearly as bad. sucidality and rage were waaaay down. every month is usually a huge struggle for me and i have to literally remind myself for the 10 days leading to my period that i don’t *actually want to die. for folks who don’t want to be on birth control or SSRIs, i can’t recommend raspberry leaf enough. u can find it at any apothecary, many metaphysical shops, online, or grow your own! (on that note- if anyone has tips for growing & drying your own medicinal herbs, please let me know)

Do people really believe that you get celiac from stress alone?? My doctor told me most likely genetics plus an infection or virus.

woah i also was diagnosed after having covid…

also so sorry to hear about that experience. that’s so much loss to process.

Help me figure out a dish glutening.

it’s likely one or two of the listed items and not every single one. to know specifically what is causing issues helps avoid those ingredients in other dishes. i see u on multiple posts commenting this unhelpful “just don’t eat things that make u feel bad. why does it matter?” comment which is invalidating, oversimplifying, and generally unhelpful. it matters bc people are trying to get to the root of the issue. i’m confused why you take the time to comment that. a lot of folks with celiac, particularly late-diagnosed people, come here looking for help and post to see if other people have had similar experiences.

i’m so sorry to hear that. i definitely can relate. i’m recently coming back to my body after a good 2 decades of denying my own reality and it’s painful but im grateful to be experiencing life more authentically. marshmallow root is a healing plant, it promotes resilience. nettles have iron as well as protective properties and some other health benefits that ill have to look into again. if u need someone to talk to, im not a certified therapist but im an energetic healer and happy to talk to you and offer any help that i can <3

this is so real. i know it’s hard, but if u can find a healthy and safe way to feel your feelings, u may be able to avoid the exploding. it’s healthier to feel your feelings bc even though they may pass in the moment, the years of repressing your emotions can manifest in the body as chronic pain. we live in a culture that shames any display of emotion and that’s literally anti-human. we are built to feel!! it’s an act of self love to honor what you feel. i’ve also found that smoking or steeping certain herbs as tea can be really helpful for when the depression/irritability are particularly bad. i recommend lemon balm, raspberry leaf, nettles, chamomile, and marshmallow root.

Going to the US in May — What fast food places can I eat at?
 in  r/Celiac  16d ago

mellow mushroom and chipotle are good options but always, always specify that u have celiac and request that they change gloves. depending on where you visit, some folks may also need a brief explanation on cross contamination. i moved from the midwest to colorado and even tho it seems like a CO would be more accommodating, it hasn’t made much of a difference and because there are more folks who are GF by choice here, it’s actually sometimes treated with less care, unfortunately.

“So do you just sh** yourself if you eat gluten” 😡
 in  r/Celiac  16d ago

omg THIS. it’s minimizing and a full on misunderstanding. i would take tummy troubles over the intense psychological distress i experience. it makes my mental health garbage if im exposed to any level of cross contamination, let alone if i actually ingest gluten.
