Being completely transparent, I'm struggling with a lot of doubt recently on God's plan and purpose for suffering in the world. The Book of Job confuses me as it tells us that God is indirectly or basically responsible for his suffering. What do you all think about this book, do you find it problematic for the character of God.
Being a pentecostal a lot of my friends see God as only good and loving. I even had a friend tell me the Book of Job is not supposed to be accurate in reflecting the dynamic between Satan and God. He said that is asides from the fact and that we should ignore it's portrayal of this dynamic. I honestly find this hard to believe and I do not think a Jewish author would lie about how the dynamic of evil works with God, even if the book is a parable.
What do you guys think, and if you can explain your take on the suffering in our world and God's role I'd be interested. My current belief is that he works through the suffering and pain but does not cause it. But rationally it is hard for me to understand as he would have to be responsible in a way for suffering if Job is accurate.

I would recommend linking up with IATSE, it's a stagehand union but it is mainly physical labor. I wouldn't say its that hard it's just usually moving boxes and then setting up equipment like lights and things. It's worth looking into if you really need money, they hire anyone regardless of their record and you could more than likely get work within the next couple weeks.
