Fostering in LA: Vista Del Mar vs Extraordinary Families vs County

Hello! We have been researching for a few months now and feel torn between Vista Del Mar, Extraordinary Families, or going straight through the county. Would love to hear from anyone who has experience with any of the 3! And if your vote is county - why? Thanks!

Advice Body Dysmorphia related to chest size after surgery

Hi everyone - I am 6 months post op and everything is healed nicely and I'm back to normal all things considered. The one sticking point is that I seem to have developed body dysmorphia. While I know logically that my chest is smaller (no more back pain, better fitting clothing, etc.), my mind still operates as if they're huge. When I look in the mirror, I still feel like they look disproportionately large for my frame. The reason I feel that this is body dysmorphia and no them simply still being too big is that when I see photos of myself, I DO think they look proportional (and I've gotten positive feedback from trusted friends and family). Therapy is probably the answer - but thought I'd see if anyone else experienced this type of dysmorphia after surgery and if anything helped! Thank you!

Filing 1099 Taxes Quarterly when you also have W-2. Help!

Hello! I have been researching all morning and am still unclear on the best move. I am working a 1099 contractor job where no taxes are taken out. I should make around $40,000 for the year. BUT, I also work a W-2 job, where taxes are withheld, and I'll make about $53,000 from that per year. My spouse (married filing jointly) is also working a W-2 job and makes around $67,000 per year with taxes withheld.

Because I'll have two W-2 jobs with taxes already removed on my tax return... do I need to pay 1099 taxes quarterly? I feel like it might end up evening out at the end of the year since I have always received a tax refund after filing. If I was only working the 1099 job, I would plan to file quarterly... but not sure what the best move is in this situation.

I appreciate any insight and please forgive my tax ignorance!

Going with the lesser of the two (what benefits the taxpayer less) is probably the safest best. Appreciate the input!

Other Tax California Health Insurance Penalty

My health insurance is going to run out end of March, but restart the first of July. So that’s April, May, June without insurance. In CA, there’s a tax penalty if you go more than “90 days” without insurance. April, May, and June is 91 days… But then some websites say “3 months.” Am I okay to wait out those 3 months or will I need to be covered for 1 of those months to be considered within the 90?

Size Change 2 Months Post-Op vs 6 Months Post-Op
 in  r/Reduction  Jan 25 '24

Thank you for sharing! Been trying to shift to a positive mindset. I was a 30HH before and 30G now, so I only went down 2-3 cup sizes. They are definitely smaller than before, but still much too large for my frame. I remember wanting a reduction when I was a 30G back in college. Mama mia.

Size Change 2 Months Post-Op vs 6 Months Post-Op

Unfortunately, I wasn't feeling the most satisfied even pre bra size. They are incredibly wide - which I'd hoped was swelling - but that doesn't seem to be the case. And I'm sure one of the primary factors having an impact on size.

Glad you're happy with where you're at! :)

Recovery/PostOp Size Change 2 Months Post-Op vs 6 Months Post-Op

Looking for some honest accounts of how much your breasts size changed between 2 months post-op and 6 months post-op.

Currently feeling incredibly discouraged as my surgeon told me to get fitted for a wire bra and I am FIVE cup sizes larger than anticipated. She said I only have 10% swelling left and she doesn't expect that to change my cup size. But I've read so many people saying they continued to shrink significantly leading up to 6 months. Would love to hear some firsthand accounts whether you shrunk, stayed the same, or even increased in size during this time!

Recovery/PostOp Significant Back Pain 2 Months Post Op

Hi all! I will be 2 months post op tomorrow. My surgeon had me swap to an underwire bra last week and since I've been wearing them, I've had pretty severe back pain... like similar to some of the worst days pre-op. I've done ABTF sizing, went to a few places to get sized, ordered more bras than you could imagine, etc. So I am confident that my fit is right. Is this normal? In my mind I'm wondering if it's my back adjusting to the new size? Like if the weight is hitting slightly differently? Thought I'd ask if others experienced this before reaching out to my doc. Thank you!

Post Reduction Bra Fitting + When To Shop

Totally hear you! I checked all the boxes in terms of what it means to have a well-fitting bra: staying in place without straps, center resting flat against my skin, swoop & scoop to reduce side bulge, etc. My bra size matched my measurements re: a bra that fits. With boobies so big - you best believe I got confidently measured to keep the girls safe and secure :)

Good to know there was still such a change between 6 weeks and 6 months. I also thought it seemed early for underwire based on everything I read, but trying to follow instructions.

I'd been professionally fitted quite a few times so think I was in a well-fitting bra before. Just so perplexing! Thanks for responding.

Advice Post Reduction Bra Fitting + When To Shop

Hello! I'm coming up on 7 weeks post-op! At my 6-week post-op appt my doctor told me to get fitted for an underwire bra. I've been instructed to wear underwire during the day, continue with surgical bra at night. I went to a few different places for the fitting and I was SHOCKED that I am basically the same size I was before! 30GG to 30G. It is very clear looking at myself that my breasts are smaller... there's no question. And my surgeon said she thought I'd settle at a size D. When I brought this up to her - she said because my band size is small, she wouldn't worry about the cup size... huh?

But I'm so confused as to how they're fitting into such a similar sized bra as before! So when I got home, I tried on a few old bras - and while some are clearly too big, others were fine. Again... my chest is much smaller than it was before so I am truly perplexed by this. Is it the shape and lift? I thought perhaps I'm still swollen, but doc assures me my cup size won't change between now and 6 months post-op. Anyone else experienced something like this? When did you get fitted for a new bra? Did you notice any significant changes between 6 weeks and 6 months? I don't want to drop a bunch of $$ on new bras if there are still changes to come. Thanks in advance!

Same size after breast reduction?
 in  r/ABraThatFits  Jan 18 '24

I have so many similarities to this post! Also was a 30G/30GG. Am 6 weeks post-op and was just told by my surgeon to get fitted for an underwire bar & start to wear it for longevity. I went to my fitting and... was a 30G!! Why yes, I did have a little (big) cry in the car. Like you, I am sitting here completely perplexed. I can SEE a difference, yet I'm the same size and still fitting into a few of the old bras and swimsuits. After my surgery, my surgeon said she thought I'd settle at a size D. I asked why such a difference in her prediction to my sizing - and she said she doesn't worry too much about cup size when the band size is so small. This confused me even more because she knew my band size going into surgery... and that's part of what made my boobs look so big to begin with. Apparently my swelling has gone down enough that it won't impact cup size. Again, so perplexed! Would love to hear an update if your size ended up changing after a few more weeks?
