Too many smiles per hour than should be allowed by law: 1972 MG Midget

They're like driving a go-kart, only it seats two and you don't have to bother with a rope pull start.

The driver's side floorboard is a 20 mph speed limit sign I swiped from the neighborhood.

1963 Corvette Stingray Coupe: Chief Designer Bill Mitchell and Chief Engineer Zora Arkus Duntov fought like cats and dogs over its full length spine; Duntov hated it, as it hindered rear vision. Mitchell loved its styling integrity. It remained for one year only.

Honestly, if an MG MIdget or Austin Healey Sprite don't put summertime smiles on your face, nothing will.

Oh, and since we're talking about shooting brakes, here's one by Luigi "Coco" Chinetti, Jr.: The outrageous, elegant, and wickedly fast 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Shooting Brake by Panther Westwinds of Surrey, UK.

There's no question. The only upside for me would have been to have purchased it for $15K and sold it at auction 30-40 years later for $660K. Not a bad return on the investment!

I'm not even a fast muscle car guy (I'm more of the tweedy British car set) but by God I love the look, feel, and sound of this thing and I would hang my left nut on a rusty hook to own this thing.

From the halcyon days when even your delivery vehicles had style: the 1938 Dodge Airflow tanker truck

Why can't more of our everyday common interactions be so entertaining?

Every neighborhood should have a red Texaco truck delivering the goods or a two story dinosaur hanging around.

Of course you will, but what a joy you will have in the meantime.

Larry Shinoda's fingerprints are all over this design. What a contribution he made to the muscle car world.

California to Negotiate Trade With Other Countries to Bypass Trump Tariffs
 in  r/politics  4d ago

Newsom is on the right track here.

Trump is already putting the screws to the state for disaster relief, so what harm is there in going alone? California would do right to extend its middle finger to the addle-brained orange cretin.

Article I section 8 clearly states that it is Congress, not the President, that has the power to "regulate commerce with foreign nations".  California would do well to demand they do their job on behalf of their constituents. It is Congress, not the Offal Office, that writes tax laws.

Tell the Supreme Court to throw out this entire list of tariffs and demand Congress to do its job.

I had a dear friend and neighbor pass away just about ten years ago who was a founding member of the Ferrari Club of America; he was a retired automotive designer and had a wonderful car collection with a 212 Vignale Coupe, a 212 Mexico, a Delahaye 135 Cabriolet, a Mangusta, a 246 GT, an Aston DB3 DHC, a James Young bodied Alfa, and a pre-war Mulliner Bentley. He once had a 275 GTB that I wish I had gotten my hands on, but I always lusted after the a California Spyder.

When he passed away his collection was dispersed and sold for millions.

He offered his 212 Vignale to me for $15K many years ago and I had to decline; so, too, the Delahaye. But I had a young familiy and the finances weren't there. The Vignale is in the the many millions now. The Mexico, of course, is priceless.

Two of Larry's former cars stayed in town, and you'll find them here:
