I have low frequency hearing loss. That’s all they’ve said. I did a balance test and the caloric test and they all came back normal

Do I have menieres?

Hello everyone,

I’m a 20yr old diagnosed with menieres for over 5 years now. And I believe I don’t have it. They always describe vertigo as 20 minutes minimum and I’ve never had that, most I’ve had is 1 minute of spinning and then sensitive to motion afterwards for a bit. Also my hearing hasn’t been bad up until about a year ago it just randomly started to get worse but before then my hearing was perfect, and it hasn’t changed in the past year. And I’ve noticed the only things that affect my ear are weather change and dehydration. What do you guys think?

Same here, I got diagnosed when I was 16, so it’s been a difficult time adjusting to this new me. But I know a lot now and I’ve almost managed my symptoms( knock on wood. But it all comes in highs and lows. Just gotta enjoy every day the best you can

Triggers

Have you guys had no problems with the most common triggers (eg. Caffeine, Salt, Alcohol, etc..) .

I’ve been diagnosed with menieres for about 5 years now and still none of those big triggers do anything for me.

Just wanted to know your guys perspective.

Had my VNG, Caloric test

They said my Caloric test results were about the same in each ear but I definitely felt more dizzy in the left ear(good ear), then my bad ear. Have you guys had any similar results?

Lightheaded

Hey guys, For the past few days I’ve been getting randomly lightheaded and it comes at random times, I can just be sitting down doing work and I get lightheaded and feels like an attack is coming but it never happens. Was just wondering if any of you guys have experienced this before.

Motivation

Hey guys, I’ve posted on here multiple times and I just wanna say I’m proud of all you guys for dealing with this dreadful disease. It affects my day to day life and I wish none of us never had to deal with this. My main way to stay positive during this is excerise because I feel like living with stress makes this so much worse than it actually is. Find whatever it is that helps you get your mind off of it when you feel most stressed out and it will make a big difference. But keep pushing forward and we will get over this one day!!

Possibly have bbpv

Hello,

I’ve had menieres for the past 4 years but I’ve also noticed if I turn over too quickly I get vertigo, or if I look up and down too quickly I get it as well. Also when I keep my head in the same position for long enough it feels like I’m falling almost. Does this sound like bbpv?

Vertigo less then a minute

Hello guys, Not sure if this is part of menieres or not but for the past week I’ve been feeling really lightheaded and sometimes I get vertigo for about 10 seconds then it goes away but leaves me feeling woozy. I used to get this months or years ago but not sure if this is part of menieres or not or if you guys have dealt with something like this.

I don’t think I’ve had it during the past year. Has Covid been a problem with hearing?

Hello, Today I went back to my ent to get a hearing test and a follow up. Last year around the same time my hearing was perfect and now my ear is basically deaf and they were very shocked and as well as me. I got perscribed prednisone to hopefully help get back from of the hearing. But I’m not sure what to do or if this is menieres anymore.

Does anyone have this?

Hello, For the past 3 weeks maybe I’ve been getting short vertigo spells in my sleep, it wakes me up and the room is spinning for about 20 seconds and it stops. I’m not sure if that’s menieres or not or if you guys have any similar experiences?

Nose stuffy/ear stuffy

My right ear is affected, and my right nostril is always stuffed up no matter the season. Not sure if that’s coincidental about my ear problems but who knows.

I don’t really have tinnitus much, and my hearing loss never fluctuates it’s always just been the same muffled hearing

Not sure what happened

I’ve been diagnosed with menieres for over 4 years now. And yesterday I was out getting stuff and I went to go grab it and when I stood back up it felt like an attack was coming, but it ended up just being lightheadedness, I’m not sure if that’s part of menieres or not but felt very weird.

Vertigo

How does your guys vertigo work? Mine feels like the room is spinning for about 10 seconds. Then it just feels like when I look around it forces my head to look another way. It’s so weird to describe but was wondering if anyone has had the same experience.

What do I have?
 in  r/Menieres  May 25 '24

The only thing that is throwing me off about not having menieres is cause I get room spinning vertigo for less then 10 seconds then it’s like I’m going to fall over.

What do I have?

I’ve made a post about this before but jm struggling to figure out my diagnosis. I was diagnosed with menieres about 5 years ago when I was 15. I have tinnitus, and hearing loss but not low frequency, and sometimes fullness but not very often. I also have tmj problems as my jaw clicks all the time and I have pain my jaw area when pressed on or when talking for a while. My vertigo doesn’t last very long, it feels like the room is spinning for about a minute then I just feel like I’m going to fall over when I try to walk but the vertigo doesn’t last for long so that’s why I don’t think I have menieres. I’m not sure what I have so that’s why I’m asking.

Question(s) Not sure what I have

I got diagnosed with menieres when I was 15, I’m currently 19 now. Back then my hearing loss wasn’t so bad and I didn’t get vertigo very often but now as the years go on It’s gotten worse and worse. For a while I have had issues with my jaw as it clicks all the time, I get pain when I talk to much or when I eat for a while. I’m just not sure what I have at this point just need some answers.
