Career Help How do I not waste my summer?

I’m a sophomore mechanical engineering major going into my junior year. I applied to around 20-25 internships, got one interview, then got ghosted. I want to make my summer count and do something that can build my resume and help me get something for next summer, but I have no clue what or how I could. I’m taking one summer course to finish up my core classes, but all of the engineering courses I need are not being offered. Any suggestions other than work a job that has nothing to do with engineering to at least make a little money?

I kinda wanna know what other songs are like this one
 in  r/ConcertBand  Jan 31 '25

If you like groovy/rhythmic music that has a bit of a jazz feel to it and cool percussion parts, I’d recommend checking out some brass band stuff. There’s a ton of great composers out there who write some pretty insane stuff. Here’s a playlist if your interested:

ATB sax trios

Im in a college level trio and we are looking for alto tenor bari pieces. We are pretty advanced players and can handle pretty much anything. I haven’t found many but have seen a lot of suggestions to transpose from different instrumentation. What instrumentation would work best to transpose to saxophone trio?

The only pieces I can think of that match that vibe are other Omar Thomas pieces lol. The two that immediately come to mind are Caribana and The Low-Down Brown Get-down

Need gift suggestions-GF Christmas gift ideas for my girlfriend

We’ve been together for over three years now, and I usually get her stuff from a list she made with things she wants. However, it feels very lazy going back to the list, and I want to give her something special because she’s amazing and deserves it. She likes really specific things like coca-cola, blueberries, and cows (so anything unique with those themes would be great). On a wider scale, she also likes music (favorite artist is Sir Chloe), art (favorite painting is Monet Water Lillies), and is a music education major. Any and all ideas are appreciated!

I got a 65 on my first chem exam…Am I cooked?
 in  r/aggies  Oct 04 '24

I went into CHEM 107 knowing basically nothing about chemistry and finished as a PT for the next semester. I dont know who ur prof is but I had Dr. Martinez- he’s the fucking GOAT. Even if you don’t have him, his group study sessions are the only reason I did so well, and I’d recommend emailing him and asking when they are if you’re looking for extra help. There’s plenty of other resources too like the chem learning laboratory where you can get help from PT’s.

Logistics of an arrangement

I just finished an arrangement of “Rhythm Dances” by Brian Balmages for saxophone ensemble and quartet (two different versions). I’d like to have it played by my old high school quartet but am not really sure what needs to be done to make that happen (in terms of copyright, permission from the original composer, etc.). I used a score I found online as well and I’m not sure if I would have to purchase an actual score or not. To be honest I don’t even know if any of this matters if it’s just a one time performance and I wont be selling the score or making any money off of it. Does anyone have any experience or tips that could help? Thanks!

Need Advice Should I minor in astrophysics?

Howdy!

I just finished my first year of college and got accepted into my major, mechanical engineering, with a 4.0 gpa. My hope is that once I graduate I can use my degree to enter the space industry (haven’t figured out what specifically I want to do within the industry yet tho). Anyways, I need to choose a minor soon and was wondering if a degree in astrophysics, which is something that already interests me, could help me achieve this goal, and if so, how difficult if would be to pursue. Thanks!

Congrats! I wonder how rare this actually is, bc I also ended with a 4.0 but didn’t really struggle at all. Just had to do lots of studying.

Brass band pieces

Not sure if this the right place for this, but I’ll give it a shot. Does anyone have recommendations for brass band pieces to add to a playlist? For reference, some composers I like are Peter Graham, Philip Sparke, and Paul Lovatt-Cooper.
