serving containers for meals
 in  r/foodnotbombs  Feb 27 '25

We got a restaurant depot card and get out containers from there! Otherwise, unfortunately, Amazon is an option (not ideal but if it’s what you have it’s what you have). I would search for restaurant suppliers online to find bulk prices too if you haven’t already.

Any advice on leadership and starting new FNB group?
 in  r/foodnotbombs  Feb 25 '25

don’t let perfect be the enemy of good. keep it horizontal, don’t let anyone become a manager. the best way we’ve found to keep our chapter going is small affinity groups on signal for different projects. don’t be afraid to start a project, and don’t feel like you need “permission” to do start anything up. good luck!

ideas for a solar powered battery pack for distros?
 in  r/foodnotbombs  Feb 25 '25

this is so informative, tysm. I have a personal kettle that boils very quickly and then shuts off, which I plan to use, so it won’t stay on continuously. do you think that would be better for wattage use than one that stays hot? do you think the bluetti would be good for charging phones too? thinking of buying a few iPhone fast chargers to maximize charging time at distros but again idk anything about wattage so I don’t know if that would be detrimental.

the Pittsburgh chapter has been trying to figure out if it’s feasible to get a battery pack of some kind to 1) let folks charge phones during our distros and 2) plug an electric kettle in, since our gas stove keeps getting blown out when we try to heat kettle or keep anything hot. any ideas? does this exist? we need something hardy since we do ~5 distros a week. Price isn’t an issue as long as it’s under $500 (but ideally cheaper lol).

problem/question existing piercing Not sure what’s going on with my month-old navel piercing… NSFW

My navel piercing is a month old and while I had irritated it pretty badly in the first few weeks, I had calmed down the irritation. It’s a 14g surgical steel curved barbell and there’s still room for it to move around, but I try not to mess with it too much. I clean it twice daily with saline spray and a qtip, but recently (within the past few weeks) it’s developed these bumps. It looks like it’s herniated a little on the bottom (the insides are on the outsides??) and the internet is not helpful on info on healing this. It’s not painful or hot to touch, but leaks some pus and gets crusty. I’m out of town for the week but when I get back do I just go to the doctor, or the piercer? thank you 🙏
