For part two (watching lecture videos before class); I have very strong feelings, this is not aimed at OP, but: save me with that garbage. If you expect me to learn everything before class, then why do I need to…go to class? I’ll learn from the videos, research what I don’t understand, take tests and do assignments online, and save the time/effort of going to class and…learning everything over again? I’ve heard it called ‘Active Learning,’ and a school where I took my prereqs said they got a grant to do it and how great it is- but the info they provided is pretty clear that it works for extroverts, but not introverts. I’m older than the average student and am on my second bachelors degree so I know what learning methods work for me, and this one should be launched into the sun.

In real life: almost 2,000 US military in the Korea War contracted what is now known to be hantavirus. Science didn’t figure out what disease caused it until the end of the show, and it sounds like that was early research that very probably would not have filtered to show staff. I’m currently in nursing school, and the concepts they discuss - hypotonic/isotonic/hypertonic, effects of too much sodium (hypernatremia), etc - have been beaten into us.

Definitely talk to the nursing school(s) to which you intend to apply. I did, and it was a mess of who would take which classes.

When I took my prerequisites, I wasn’t full time and was able to schedule work around it. The only reason I could afford to not work during nursing school is because my mom died and my share of her ‘estate’ was just enough to cover living expenses.

Does ephemeral/occasional count? I got to explore Lake Manley in Death Valley National Park last February. Park Rangers said a lake forms every 25 years or so. People were kayaking. In the middle of freaking Death Valley…

I had a Mercedes 190 with AMG wheels that developed a shimmy after replacing tires. Took it to the local Mercedes specialist, they couldn’t figure it out, advise a tire rebalance. Five different tire shops balanced the tires, didn’t solve it. Took it to two other German car specialists, gave the same advice, didn’t solve it. Returned to the Mercedes specialist, they said I need +$2,000 in suspension repair. I was moving to Palm Springs, so I just waited until I got there to sort it out. Found a shop littered with various Mercedes in various states of repair run by a mechanic who sounded like he arrived from Eastern Europe yesterday. I made an appointment, and when I rolled in he just took one Quick Look and said: they’re putting the wrong wheel weights on. The Euro wheels need these tape weights, not the clamp-on weights. He put it on the lift and drove it and checked it out, said I was fine and take it to this particular tire shop and request this particular weight. $50 later that car was driving like it was factory new.

Yep. The two characters are quite different, it’s almost jarring.
