Why doesn't Firefox do tab dragging like Chrome?
 in  r/firefox  4h ago

They are talking about it from a usability point of view. You don't think it's wise to adopt a method that has been perfected elsewhere?

Video Shows Aid Workers Killed in Gaza Under Gunfire Barrage, With Ambulance Lights On (NYT gift article)
 in  r/news  2d ago

Are Apartheid Israelis the bad guys? No, this can't be. Surely they aren't committing genocide, killing majority innocent civilians (women, children, medics, journalists). Apparently, it's antisemitic to point this out.

Trump's highest tariff will kill tiny African kingdom of Lesotho, economist says

Unnecessary, they are their own independent nation; not to mention the tax burden it would put on South Africa to support 2 million more people.

Vertical Sidebar and Tree Style tabs
 in  r/firefox  3d ago

Tree Style Tabs have parent/child tabs in a tree, vertical tabs don't which makes it hard to keep track of many tabs that are independent of other trees.

Vertical Tabs is maturing nicely and I hope they expose some APIs for extensions to integrate with, but Tree Style Tabs is still the best option for vertical tabs.

Trump's highest tariff will kill tiny African kingdom of Lesotho, economist says
 in  r/Africa  3d ago

Submission statement:

A 50% reciprocal trade tariff on Lesotho, the highest levy on U.S. President Donald Trump's long list of target economies, will kill the tiny Southern African kingdom that Trump ridiculed last month, an economic analyst there said on Thursday.

Lesotho, which Trump described in March as a country "nobody has ever heard of", is one of the world's poorest nations with a gross domestic product of just over $2 billion.

It has a large trade surplus with the United States, mostly made up of diamonds and textiles, including Levi's jeans.

Its exports to the United States, which in 2024 totalled $237 million, account for more than 10% of its GDP.

In Africa, the move signalled the end of the AGOA (African Growth and Opportunity Act) trade deal that was supposed to help African economies develop through preferential access to U.S. markets, trade experts said. It also compounded the pain after Trump dismantled USAID, the government agency that was a major supplier of aid to the continent.

The US pre-emptively voting against making food a human right so their handlers, Apartheid Israel, can cause a famine in the Gaza genocide

BBC’s Jeremy Bowen accuses Israel of blocking journalists from Gaza | Gaza
 in  r/television  8d ago

Apartheid Israel's busy intentionally targeting and killing journalists this very moment:

DW - How reporting in Gaza is a deadly assignment for journalists

They killed Hossam Shabat a few days ago by classifying him as a terrorist and bombed him with American bombs.

If there's no eyes on the genocide, then is there really a genocide?

The US is now a police state, and what's worse is it isn't for the benefit of their own people in power but for a foreign nation. Apartheid Israel has got the US by the balls

World Bank and SA have R55bn plan to 'reverse the collapse' in major cities (opinion in comments)
 in  r/southafrica  10d ago

you're conflating 2 things and then "making a point," - but instead you're just being confusing, and then stating an opinion.

Or do you just want to bitch, and you weren't really prepared for a conversation on the nuanced effects of project financing?

That's a bit confrontational lol. I was just stating 2-line opinion, that budgeted money isn't effectively used in the big metros, especially Joburg.

I'm not qualified to say what effect (positive or negative) metros raising their own money would have, but to me it seems oversight is needed urgently. Especially when Joburg Metro SOCs are getting billions annually for it not to be even close to sufficiently run.

I just hope we at the bottom aren't going to be paying for their wasteful expenditure.

The Joburg Metro already has an R80 billion budget, so what is more liquid money going to achieve? I try to be positive but the Joburg Metro is massive and it requires good governance from the top down to be effective; not more money.

AfriForum’s bid to have ‘Kill the boer’ declared hate speech fails at ConCourt
 in  r/southafrica  10d ago

now I reckon they're singing it to get a rise out of everyone

So we're in agreement then. I don't believe "they are singing it as a literal incitement to white genocide" but Julius has been shown to use racist rhetoric. He is using the the song as a dog whistle, to stay relevant as support for his party is waning.

AfriForum’s bid to have ‘Kill the boer’ declared hate speech fails at ConCourt
 in  r/southafrica  10d ago

I didn't say the Constitutional Court should take any action against it. You don't think there's anything wrong about the wording of this "song"? You think the people singing it are singing it as a struggle song? What use is it today other than race-baiting, and populism through divisive politics, especially from a party like the EFF?

 in  r/southafrica  10d ago

I'm as left wing as you can get, I think it's stupid to sing a song that calls for the deaths of a race group regardless of historical context. Only idiotic, divisive and vile racists like the EFF will continue to sing it. You don't see the ANC sing it because it's foolish. It deserves to be relegated to history.

EFF on collision course with AfriForum over singing of 'Kill the boer' at rally

The EFF will do anything to stay relevant. Divisive politics is the only way this idiot knows. Just stop Julius, it's over and it gives fuel to the other racists to advance their agenda.

Just don't ask them about equal rights for the Palestinians that live in Bantustans under their government's rule, or against genocide in their name. This is an Apartheid society that doesn't want two states because that would mean lost land, nor one state because that would mean millions more voters in the Middle East's only democracy.
