Baby’s Water Cup

I love the Pura Kiki. My daughter struggled at first with no handles but the Dr. Brown’s bottle handles can squeeze on fine.

This is the way!

Anyone else a low supplier despite doing “everything”
 in  r/ExclusivelyPumping  16d ago

Yep. Even Reglan only got me from 4 oz per day to 6. I quit after four months and my 19 month old is now thriving. Some things are just out of our control.

Supply at 5 weeks pp. What am I doing wrong?

Love this. I wasted so much money and time on all the supplements, parts, and pumps and it made no difference. What mattered was putting down the pump and snuggling my baby.

Supplementing with formula in the days after birth may not impact breastfeeding success later

And they have the audacity to call this “baby friendly.”

Agree with the fertility clinic waitlist. It took me three months to get my first appointment.

Any advice to help me build up my milk supply??? I’m desperate
 in  r/breastfeedingsupport  Mar 03 '25

I can’t remember how long I was on it - I think 3 or maybe six weeks. It was a taper dose. It upped my supply from about 4 oz per day to 6, then it went back down when I finished it. I didn’t ask for a refill so I don’t know if they would have given one.

Have you had bloodwork done recently? It’s possible it’s hormonal or medical, like retained placenta.

You’ve already gotten good advice AND it sounds like you’re doing everything right. I had a very similar experience, producing single digit ounces daily even with Reglan. I had a hard time letting go of breastfeeding but ultimately decided when my baby was hospitalized with RSV at four months. All that mattered was holding her and I’d be damned if a pump was going to get between us for a couple ounces.

I hope you find answers because I know how frustrating it is when my body wouldn’t do the thing I felt it was supposed to. I still don’t exactly know why I produced so little - maybe my PCOS.

Keep trying as long as you need to but also give yourself permission to let go for your own mental health. Time with baby, adequate rest, and a happy mom are just as important as breast milk!

Would you run a day care to stay home with your kids?

She should try working at an established daycare for a while and see just how easy it is. Your husband too, see how simple “wiping butts” is for 12 children!

I’m about to have my second round of gum grafting ($3000 each) because night grinding has receded my gums so bad, and I’m only in my thirties. I so wish I had listened sooner and worn the damn bite guard every night!

Can you even call those songs? The other day we were deep in a Raffi Spotify channel and an unlistenable track came on and I immediately knew it must be Blippi.

I have no evidence if it helps, but when I worked in daycare we were told to mask up to change poopy diapers (and always gloves for diaper changes).

I see nannies do this all the time in their job seeking posts, and I know a lot of families might not care but it just screams unprofessional.

Our pediatrician recommended it for our formula fed daughter too. I think it was if she gets less than 30oz a day.

Yes, there’s been research that young children benefit from limited toys. https://www.psychologytoday.com/intl/blog/singletons/201712/study-underscores-why-fewer-toys-is-the-better-option?amp

I read that it’s better for a baby to have a dead parent, rather than sleep trained w/ CIO

I think there are probably benefits to the child as well having quiet, low stimulation alone time even if they don’t sleep.

That’s what I don’t get about the “baby learns you’ll ignore them and that’s why they stop crying” argument. We did Ferber at around 8 months and now, 8 months later, my daughter will still cry about once a week and just need cuddles to fall back asleep. She also would cry when she still needed MOTN feeds.

I’m a way more patient and engaged mom now that I’m getting more sleep!
