If the color red was called blue, would we be used to it?
 in  r/RandomThoughts  1d ago

If yes meant no and no meant yes, would a reply even make sense?

What would your retired Dragonborn do for a living after saving the world?
 in  r/skyrim  2d ago

Retire. Get bored. Leave family and travel to another kingdom to clear their dungeons and disrupt their politics.

Why do actors/actresses do that darting eyes thing on shows/movies?

So do I mostly but I was talking about eye contact specifically

Why do actors/actresses do that darting eyes thing on shows/movies?

Because that's what humans generally do when they are looking someone in the eyes, unless they just stare at one eye constantly.

Are we any closer to ditching these archaic twice yearly time changes? Would you support switching to UTC+1 permanently?
 in  r/AskUK  7d ago

Can you link us to this decision that "we" made to get rid of it. I must have missed that vote.

OP, serious question here. Have you ever read up on any aspect of human history over the last 10,000 years? Or did you think we all got along in peace and harmony until recently?

What do Brits think about Taylor Swift's songs?

This gives off strong "oh my god you guys get American things over there?" vibe

Next they'll ask us if we've ever heard of a guy called Elvis Presley

Why do you Brits create the Cthuludöner?
 in  r/Doner  14d ago

It's literally just octopus tentacles that have most likely been packaged which has compressed them to that shape. What part of that is messing with a dish?

Why tf are people mad about Yasuke being a samurai?
 in  r/AssassinsCreedShadows  14d ago

I completely get what you mean and it's a very valid argument.

I guess as someone who has been playing these games since the release of AC1, I've become numb to the changes they make to history because from the start they made it very clear that all it was, is a game based on historical events and characters. Not something to be taken as an accurate retelling of history.

But these days a lot of people take it too seriously, so maybe I'm in the wrong for believing what is written at the intro to every game in series.

Why tf are people mad about Yasuke being a samurai?
 in  r/AssassinsCreedShadows  14d ago

I'm simply using the first example I thought of to point out the liberties taken in every single AC game, to mix in historical figures and happenstance with the main characters and story.

There are a lot of people these days who act like historical inaccuracy is a new thing in the series. When in reality the alternate realities were always one of the main selling points

These idiots only bring up historical accuracy when it suits their narrative. I don't remember anyone complaining about Alexander Graham Bell creating gadgets for 2 London gangsters even though he didn't do that historically

1

would you consider it normal for a friend to prank another friend by dumping a bag of bodily waste on them while they’re sleeping, or is that crossing a line?
 in  r/AskUK  15d ago

I don't mind a prank but something like that signals some kind of disdain or hate. So I'd have to reply in kind but escalated.
