With the way things are going, you will find out from TMZ if you got your job back before you hear anything to your actual email.

Specific Opening Do I actually need a specific class if I have an advanced degree in the same field? Job: chemist for the Air Force

I am a civilian considering applying for a job listing for a chemist in the Air Force. The listing mentions wanting a candidate who has taken differential and integral calculus. I got an A in integral calculus in undergrad, but didn't take differential calculus. I have since gotten an MS in chemistry as well.

Since the job listing specifically mentions differential calculus I am assuming it's a dealbreaker, but I thought I would check. I could take it for free in the fall at my job, but I don't really want to take an entire course for one job opportunity.

Lenox Spice Village is shipping months early?
 in  r/cottagecore  Feb 26 '25

I wonder if some of them shipped out of order or enough arrived broken that they needed to be replaced. I ordered the 4 sets individually and 3/4 had one later ship date and one had an earlier date. They shipped all 4 at once early instead.

I'm in a group that allows anonymous posts, but they are submitted to the mods who post them with a flair for anonymous which allows them to filter somewhat.

What’s the point in Boycotting?
 in  r/Anticonsumption  Feb 19 '25

Le Creuset cast iron is always made in France.

The pieces at HomeGoods are cheaper because they use cheaper colors of enamel and no ombre finishing (more time consuming to do). The only time the glossier, ombre enamel makes it to discount retailers is when there's overstock or a color line is discontinued.

Le Creuset cast iron is always made in France. I worked for the company for a long time, and still maintain friends there to this day. It's only the stoneware that is made abroad - sometimes in China, but also Thailand.

I can understand for groceries and necessities, but it frustrates me that people act like not having a giant closet full of Shein clothing is a human rights issue. It is only relatively recently that people bought more than a few clothing items per year. But if you suggest that maybe people who want to boycott cheap clothing but "can't" should consider buying less clothing overall which would make affording better quality and more ethically produced items more attainable, suddenly you "hate poor people and don't think they should have nice things." No, I think they should have nice things, and Shein isn't nice.

My suspicion is that what people can't give up is not the clothes themselves, but the feeling of abundance that comes with shopping often and buying lots of stuff. With a low income (which was me for the first 30 years of my life), buying lots of stuff is not possible with brands that actually pay their people, don't put them in unsafe working conditions, and produce untold loads of waste for landfills by the day.

Seche vite is not cutting it as a Super glossy holo taco replacement. Other options?
 in  r/theholotaco  Feb 19 '25

Seche Vite also shrinks for me, no matter how long I wait after my polish dries. Even polishing the edges fully, the sides of the top coat are noticeably narrower than the polish. I hate it!

I'll be reading this thread in earnest looking for a better replacement. :\

Focus face products:)

Very pretty blush palette! You can also use it for crease colors or liner (w/ the darkest shade) on your eyes as well as mix some of the blush with a moist product to use as a cream blush too.

Saaaame problem. Any skin tones, matte browns, or creams always go first!

The pan looks a bit scary with those "teeth" along the side, it reminds me of the mouth of a demogorgon from Stranger Things!

This is my favorite way to pan too! Too bad it's expensive so I can't live my life traveling lol.

Nice! I'm working on this one too. Any particular looks you like to do? I'm kind of in a rut at the moment. :\

Normal that insurance went from $60/mo to $284/mo just because of adding spouse?

Was going to say, ours is $2400/mo. Ugh.

I hate when professors assign midterms right after spring break
 in  r/CollegeRant  Jan 22 '25

It's not so much unpopular, as it is that whether a midterm is before or after spring break, it's a hassle. Additionally, you are WAY ahead of most of your classmates by being aware of this in January. You can eliminate or cut way back on studying during spring break by planning ahead so you are preparing a little more each day vs waiting til the week before. In other words, no one is forcing you to study during your break but you and your own time management, which is a good thing - you can do something about it!

For example, making a chapter summary immediately after finishing a chapter in the lecture and creating a practice test on the material, or doing flash cards for vocabulary for a language class, that sort of thing.

I had the same experience with the sleeping mask. It took forever to pan, it felt weird on my skin, and it didn't seem to actually hydrate anything!

I was struggling to apply my mascara this morning and when I brushed it across my hand, it was just about dry/empty. No wonder! Time for a new one.

Call the Midwife is such a good show, but some of the episodes are emotionally draining. I can't watch an unfamiliar episode before bed!

At my in laws for the holidays. This is like a record height, right?

Is this in Utah or Montana? Cause it sure looks like it.

This seems like a very dramatic response. OP says they are considering their level of consumption. Not everyone who over-shops has a disordered level in need of professional intervention.

I"m saying this as someone who did estate sale cleanouts and organizations. This is nothing.
