Yeah, I get it. My friend group is similar and we don't run into these issues. I recognize that ingroup discrimination like what the post describes exists primarily in internet or text spaces and much less often in physical spaces.
It still happens, of course, and it sucks when it does, but I agree that it's less common than the internet wants us to believe.

Legitimately, my advice is to never back down on these issues. Be a stubborn mule about it. Call people out on it when they dismiss your feelings. Force them to talk and understand that men also have issues and suffer under patriarchal norms. Never stop talking about it or shying away from bringing it up.

Ah, I see. Yeah, I wouldn't disagree. I had the same experience as you in the parades and speeches I attended as well and the community hasn't pushed me out before. I've received nothing but kindness. Ingroup discrimination really seems to be a problem primarily in internet spaces.
I wonder why that is, honestly. Maybe the ones posting hateful stuff are doing it constantly, and the ones at rallies are more active in real life instead, so they don't waste their time hateposting?
