Is walking a good enough exercise to avoid gaining excess weight in pregnancy?
 in  r/fitpregnancy  3h ago

Mostly walked as well and tried to do on an incline too! I feel like I’m squatting randomly throughout the day because bending forward just isn’t an option anymore 😂😂 So I’m glad to hear that it helps with the core for delivery and afterwards!

How unreasonable is to ask my provider to get my NIPT done in my week 10?
 in  r/BabyBumps  4d ago

Yep, I tested at 9w4d, 12w1d and didn’t have enough fetal fraction until I was 14w3d (not a high BMI, it just happens!).

Most will just have single tickets available and you don't have to be a member/patron. The Public Theatre just announced this today (but this is expensive!): https://publictheater.org/support-us/events-benefits/2425-events/2025-gala/?src=178868. MCC, NYTW, MTC are some others!

Most non-profit theatres will have single tickets available on their websites. This one for the Public Theatre is expensive but it did just come out today for June 10 - https://publictheater.org/support-us/events-benefits/2425-events/2025-gala/?src=178868

Am I doing too much?
 in  r/newborns  11d ago

Hi! I'm very curious to see what other parents say about this. But please remember that while it's lovely your friend was able to do just movies and walks with her kid at this age, many moms have already had to go back to work at six weeks, there's a reason daycares take babies that young! Seems like you are doing fine to me, finding ways to keep your sanity while taking care of your baby ...and also, she knows that babies fuss 🙄

Ok, strap in: I think I finally found a time management system that *works* for my ADHD brain and time blindness!
 in  r/adhdwomen  12d ago

Even if a system helps me for just three days and I abandoned it, that's three days that I felt good, got stuff done and didn't have a mental breakdown 😂Sometimes that's enough! Keep going ☺️

There is none! If it works for you, I say share it right away because you never know if it’ll work for somebody else. Please read my other comment and thank you for this post!

I thought we already had a discussion on this sub about not being negative if a post doesn’t fit what would work for you. If somebody here finds something that works for them and wants to share it, why do some feel the need to comment that “it won’t work” or snark “let me know how it’s going in a month” or or any other unnecessary thing that just feels like it’s meant to tear somebody else down. There are so many posts about things that someone is doing to make their life better, even if it helps just one other person and that person is NOT you, how does that affect you?? Just read and move on. Write your own post about how something doesn’t work for you if you really feel the need to share.

I love this sub so much and it helps me tremendously but seeing negative comments over something somebody is excited about just gives very mean-girl energy and I don’t understand. We’re all just trying to do our best here and if we can help somebody else along the way, that’s even better. OP - thank you for sharing this system ❤️

How Young is too Young for a Sitter?
 in  r/newborns  Mar 07 '25

Absolutely not a bad person at alllllll, you deserve a night out. Remember, many moms have to go back to work sooner than two months. Enjoy a nice few hours while your baby is with a safe, trusted person!

Have you tried the little baby scissors instead of clippers? Those always worked better for me!

I f*cked up (pregnancy)
 in  r/adhdwomen  Feb 13 '25

Hi! There’s no way that would harm the baby and try not to let the dreams bother you too much, they are absolutely crazy. I am 27 weeks pregnant (first time ever) and I had several terrifying nightmares like yours and more throughout my first trimester and all ended up being ok!

Also, just anecdotally and I have stayed on a lower dose of my meds throughout my pregnancy if that’s something you want to talk to your doctor about. It was absolutely worth it for me to stay on them.

Random tips & tricks that have helped me since my diagnosis
 in  r/adhdwomen  Feb 11 '25

Not OP but I also love Opening and Closing down the house! Opening - take meds, drink lemon water, fresh water/food for dog, start tea water, empty dishwasher- because part of “closing down the house” is starting it at night ☺️Closing - fans/heat off in non bedroom rooms, remove contacts, brush teeth, wash face, set out tea mugs, wipe down kitchen counter, start dishwasher, start white noise sounds. I wouldn’t pick too many things but it’s a nice way to have a routine. If you have an Alexa or something you could also have it play a song at a certain time every night to signal that it time to start closing. Hope this helped a bit!!

Scared of the Potential "Quiet Brain"
 in  r/adhdwomen  Jan 14 '25

Agree with all of this! I also think it’s good to know going in that medication absolutely does not fix all. There is still so much other work to do to even have the medication itself work how it’s supposed to 😂 I definitely don’t feel like a different person, brain still buzzes, and I almost wish the meds changed a little bit more about me! Good luck!
