De jaarlijkse oorlog op Pasen is weer begonnen.
 in  r/tokkiefeesboek  4d ago

Dat is allemaal overgenomen van heidense lentevieringen, om mensen gemakkelijker te bekeren tot het christendom. Net zoals de kerstboom.

So… she’s dead. Now what?
 in  r/darksouls  6d ago

There's no npc's you need to summon to advance their questline. There's some invaders you'll have to beat if you want their gear, but that's a different thing.

Who are the nicest and meanest people in metal?

I gained massive respect for him for the way he handled himself during his trial in the Czech Republic.

So it's also not incredibly important if grandma can't make it.

The ONE unambiguously good person in a setting with black-and-gray morality
 in  r/TopCharacterTropes  22d ago

Not unambiguously good, but considering how far beyond fucked up 40k is compared to the other universes I think they still count.

My mom used to say in our local dialect "Es is 'n kròm lètter", literally: "S is a crooked letter". "Es" pronounced like "S" being the equivalent of "If only".

Any mod-makers in the sub?
 in  r/valheim  23d ago

Fair points, and I'm not saying multiplayer doesn't have more benefits than singleplayer.

But maybe it's just me, but when playing in a group it always felt like it took more time to get enough gear for everyone. You needed to hunt more, find more copper/trolls/crypts/villages etc to get enough materials.

When playing solo I can breeze through progression at least until plains because I just need a small amount of everything.

Rune Arcs ☹️
 in  r/Eldenring  23d ago

Rune Arcs, Starlight Shards and anything crafted with Arteria leaves. They feel too limited and farming them is ridiculously tedious.

I wish they were more like Embers in DS3, fairly rare if you didn't do multiplayer, but still plenty enough that you weren't afraid to use them.

Could we please get a Music Box?

Neither were vegvisirs and those are everywhere!(except when you're looking for them ;)

Yeah, and otoh a solo player has the benefit that they need less resources for gear and food.

Both experiences are different, and that's fine.

Why do so many gamers hate Debra Wilson?
 in  r/Gamingcirclejerk  24d ago

But also all of her characters are just her mo-capped

She has more than 50 videogame credits and maybe like 5 use her likeness.

I painted an entire army of women before I came out
 in  r/Warhammer40k  25d ago

On one hand I agree with you, having interests typically associated with the opposite gender doesn't mean you're gay or trans, and thinking that way reinforces gender stereotypes. For example personally I really dislike when close male friendships are thought of as them having to be gay for each other.

On the other hand I think we can also give some leeway to marginalized communities for feeling represented and discovering their identity through an affinity for traditionally gendered interests.

It's probably different for everybody, but personally I identify with characters because of their character, not their gender. As a straight cis-male I might not have experienced the same things as someone from a different sex, gender, sexuality, race or whatever, but that doesn't mean I can't empathize. At least consciously I don't find myself identifying more with male characters than female.

When it comes to rpgs I do tend to make female characters because I like looking at girls, but otherwise the choices I make in game tend to be gender agnostic. If there's romance options my PC will usually be bi or pan, regardless of what gender I picked.

When Aang supported Katara's protest against sexism.
 in  r/TheLastAirbender  27d ago

The irony is that in removing Sokka's sexism they made the show itself misogynistic by reducing Suki's character to a thirsty girl who has never seen a boy, instead of a strong character who learns to respect Sokka because he changed his worldview.

Christian Von Carmian’s VTuber Sisters Channel
 in  r/sistersofbattle  Mar 09 '25

Of course it is, I just don't understand why it's something to get hung up on. If he was being overly cutesy or loud and excited I could understand not liking it, but he's literally just presenting matter of fact content with the occasional joke thrown in.

It doesn't add anything, but it doesn't detract anything either imo. His content is still good, how he wants to present it doesn't bother me.

I feel bad for their kids that both their parents are awful. While not on the same level as Musk, Grimes is clearly not all there either and spews a lot of pseudo-intellectual bs.

I'm well aware of that. Just saying that $10 boots in Ankh Morpork is like the equivalent to $50 boots on present day roundworld.

Wat moet je hier nou mee... 🥹
 in  r/nederlands  Feb 23 '25
