[TOMT][SONG] Campy sort of song about a rocketship?
 in  r/tipofmytongue  1d ago

It is a kids' song, but maybe "Zoom, zoom, zoom. We're going to the moon."

Anyone else with OCD?
 in  r/finch  3d ago

My OCD tends to make me want to isolate myself, so I have a lot of goals about connecting to other people, like 'reach out to a friend' and 'tell someone something I appreciate about them'. My therapist assigns a lot of homework so I always add that in as a goal. I have doing a mindfulness exercise as a daily goal (which I do through Insight Timer app - free version).  I tend to set goals around things I love that OCD tries to get in the way of, like getting out in nature, spending time creating something, and moving more.

One thing that tripped me up on the app: I have to be careful with journal entries. I was doing a daily thankfulness journal in the app and it got away from me a bit. I was listing the same things every day and started feeling like something bad would happen if I left something/someone off my list. I still do the entry, but I only let myself list one or two things and not the same things over and over. It's also easy to accidentally start ruminating on the app, so I try to keep any entries I do fairly short usually.

If you are a podcast listener, I recommend The OCD Whisperer.

Everytime I wear my galaxy watch overnight, I get a hive spot where the infrared light hits my wrist
 in  r/mildlyinteresting  5d ago

I keep a roll of that beige self adhesive bandage wrap, and I'll cut a small square to put under the light. The sensor can still work through the bandage but it seems to give my skin a bit of a break. So long as I do this a few times a week, I don't get a rash.

Tulsa Events Puzzled Pint - March Event, Tuesday March 11th!

The March Puzzled Pint night is Tuesday the 11th from 6-9!

Puzzled Pint is a casual, social puzzle solving event which happens at bars/pubs on the second Tuesday of every month in dozens of cities around the world. It's free to attend, and the puzzles may incorporate things like crosswords, word searches, cryptograms, word play, and logic problems.

A location puzzle is posted here (with hints), which you can solve and then input your answer in the blank to know where to go Tuesday evening. Important: The puzzle answer is NOT the location, but you will put the correct answer into the website and then scroll to find the Tulsa location. You can also click for the solution if you run short on time or click for hints to get started on the puzzle. We can give more hints in person than online, so always feel like you can still come to the event even if the location puzzle isn't working for you.

Tuesday night, show up at the location and we'll have more puzzles for you to solve while you enjoy drinks. It is free to attend and participate, but you buy your own drinks and food. Teams of 3-4 work great, but you can bring a team with you or come solo. The more team members you have, the faster it goes. If it's your first time, you can come try out a puzzle or two. 'Game Control' will be on hand to give hints and verify answers from 6:00-9:00, but don't feel like you need to be there at 6:00 to start.

Full details on the website. We hope to see you there!

I have an MRI today and I’m really scared
 in  r/finch  Feb 19 '25

I have to get semi-regular head MRIs, and having a pillow or cushion under my knees makes a huge difference in how comfortable I am.

Dog just started acting extremely scared
 in  r/DogAdvice  Feb 13 '25

Overuse of sage can lead to sage-resistant hauntings which can make ghost infestations harder to treat and easier to spread. Some ghosts that were once responsive to sage have become more and more sage resistant after generations of overuse.

Puzzled Pint - This coming Tuesday, 1/14!
 in  r/tulsa  Jan 13 '25

If you want to skip the location puzzle, we'll be at The WelBar at Mother Road Marketon Tuesday. Look for the table sign to find us.

If you are stuck on finding the path through the maze:

The first few steps are: Right to S, down to L, Left to M, Up to A, Right to R, down all the way to the second G.

If you want the whole path, after that: left to L, up to the second G, right to Y, down all the way to R at the bottom, left to U, up to the second O, right to R, down to T, Left to R, up to W, right all the way to the second N, down to R, left to S, up to A, right to O, down one spot to N, Left one spot, then all the way up and right to the end.

After you have the path: only a few letters haven't been ran over in the path. If you look at those letters left to right and top to bottom, you get the final answer.

Answer: Mint Sauce

What do people mean when they add “…or whatever” at the end of their sentence?
 in  r/Explainlikeimscared  Dec 18 '24

It can also mean someone is okay with something similar. If I say "Sprite or whatever" that means it could be whatever lemon-lime soda that particular place carries. I don't care if it is Sprite or Starry or something else in that category.

I’m probably just bitter but
 in  r/pokemongo  Dec 06 '24

Agreed! I also think XP for excellent throws on the same Pokemon should stack.

I mean…. At least he’s trying?
 in  r/pokemongo  Dec 05 '24

I always put my lowest CP pokemon on gyms since I'm usually getting gyms at the very edge of town. It's my way of saying, "Look at how weak and defenseless I am. Please don't leave me on this gym forever." I just want the coins.

a bit of a random question that probably isn’t a big deal to anyone else 🧍🏼
 in  r/finch  Dec 04 '24

I sometimes send the same one more than once to emphasize it. Someone hits the needs a hug button? They are going to get at least 2 hugs from me.

Every year, our Elsa ornament gets closer to 0% battery - Every year, a little more evil...
 in  r/funny  Dec 01 '24

They make ornaments that are meant to record sound (usually someone's voice), but once it finally goes, you should pick up one of those, record the best video you have of it into the new ornament, so you can keep it on the tree with Elsa.

Seconding Tyler Thrasher! I think they are at 1323 East 3rd St now, but they have limited hours in person (maybe Friday afternoons?). Their crystallized insects and glowing bouquets are so cool. We're so lucky to have him and his whole crew in Tulsa.
