HMC during the moment a girl started the fire.

Except for that one girl filming who decided to walk CLOSER to the flaming gasoline container.

My dog ate a fajita pepper. Will he be ok?
 in  r/DogAdvice  1d ago

I once went to a zoo where they only had one animal.

A dog.

It was a shit zoo.

What is a pain you can't truly explain until you've endured it?
 in  r/AskReddit  1d ago

I've had sciatica since my teens. Good friend of mine was on a Skype call with me a couple of years back, describing pain. It sounded like sciatic nerve pain to me, so I asked him if it hurt when he looked down. I had expected he would gingerly tilt his head down, since we were talking about pain. He basically just tilted his head forward at full speed. I just heard a choked "AAAHHHHHHGGHH."

Yup. Sounds like sciatica.

Are there any privacy rights when using a conbini copy machine?
 in  r/japanlife  1d ago

AFAIK, most commercial copiers store data in their buffers too...

I (an Australian) have my Canadian cousins coming for dinner, what should I cook them?
 in  r/AskACanadian  2d ago

I'd want to compare meat pies. They're a thing in eastern Canada, especially Québec, but I'd be really interested to know if the Australian take went a different direction for spices and stuff. And then we drown it in ketchup and compare ketchups.

Just a quick heads up if you do end up in a political discussion here: the party colours are different. Red is Liberal, and blue is Conservative. There are other national parties, but those colours are the ones that could be misleading.

What about the Russian encroachment into the White House? -.- I hate those people so much.

 in  r/Chefit  5d ago

Oh, like the word "literally." No one could possibly change its meaning through common usage.

Fake hand experiment. It's interesting how the brain can be tricked into feeling pain.

Hi native speakers, would you say this is a difficult test?
 in  r/EnglishLearning  6d ago

Surely you mean Guillaume le Conquérant! ;)

(I was brought up in French initially, and I had a friend named Guillaume who used "Bill" as all his online aliases. Took me a while to figure it out. )

My boyfriend’s fascination with Japan is disturbing to me and I don’t know if I am an asshole for feeling that way.
 in  r/weeabootales  7d ago

And as someone who lives in Japan, I get really irritated the people who believe everything Japanese is better and Japan can do no wrong.

I first came on the JET Programme, which was great, but in my second or third year we got a newcomer. One of those who majored in Asian Studies, who "already had a J-Mom" and said she'd probably be here forever because she already loved it so much before even coming. She'd also graduated uni early. She was barely older than her students. She left after 6 months.

I mean, yeah, but with my finances, the nearest I'll ever come to that is bathing in the local pothole and being run over by Steve, who drank and took his lifted truck again. Just saying, those pools and I ain't ever gonna meet.

Unplanned surgery overseas, need someone to remove stitches after returning
 in  r/japanlife  9d ago

I'm thinking a dermatologist might be able to do it. I had a massive abscess that needed to be cut, drained, cleaned, and I've been going for "wound care" (i.e. cleaning, medicating, rebandaging) for just about the last two months, and all of it has been taken care of by 皮膚科. I'm assuming removing stitches should cause them no problem

I don't think they're complaining about the usage of the word. I think they are showing the female's reaction.

On many Japanese toilets, the hand wash sink is attached so that you can wash your hands and reuse the water for the next flush. Japan saves millions of liters of water every year doing this.
 in  r/BeAmazed  11d ago

They're quite common, but I've never encountered anyone that actually uses them to wash their hands. Some people will leave a bar of soap, but it's mostly for smells. A lot more people will have something you can put under that little faucet but over the hole, and as the water flows over it, a little (perfumed or deodorant) liquid is wicked out into the tank.

Advice needed - travelling in Japan with a severe egg, nut and peanut allergy
 in  r/JapanTravelTips  11d ago

I don't know if it's still number 1, but for a while Japan was the highest consumer of eggs per capita in the world. I wish OP the best of luck. Feels like it could be hard to avoid.

Does Ichirian Ramen have pork free option?
 in  r/japanlife  11d ago

Ichiran is literally focused on tonkotsu, or pork bone broth. That's their whole thing. Why would you go there? (It's literally the first sentence on their web page. Tiktok is not a good research tool.)

I'm sorry I don't have a recommendation. The area I live in also focuses on pork bone broth.

WIBTA for refusing to raise my husband's affair children now that he and the woman he cheated with passed away?
 in  r/BORUpdates  12d ago

The best is that they were suing for custody, but also ATTEMPTING TO LIVE WITH THEM, while the police is working on getting them an RO. How does that work, haha. Nothing holds up in here .
