Princeton or Duke?
 in  r/ApplyingToCollege  30m ago

duke great balance of work hard play hard, great neuro program, better weather, really cant go wrong with it. anyone who thinks princeton has significantly better name recognition than duke is kidding themselves

new arts and science core
 in  r/Vanderbilt  2d ago

just like with AXLE its unlikely ap credits can be used to skip the new core requirements but i don’t think we know for sure yet (they REALLY want you to actually take the classes here)

Stats for people who got into duke!!
 in  r/chanceme  4d ago

1500 SAT 4.35w gpa 3.91uw. ranked 7/525 at a public rural uncompetitive school. don’t want to doxx myself but ecs are nothing special at all, some clubs in my last two years of hs with decent impact, a nonprofit started last minute with minimal impact, a couple things related to some niche hobbies of mine with debatable impact, no real big awards. interview went (i thought at least) mediocre. essays and LORs i think were my deciding factors

Are any of the other Purdue Campuses good?
 in  r/Purdue  4d ago

the regional purdue polytech campuses are seen as basically one step up from community college. so ideal for indiana residents who want to stay in their communities/nearby but i would never recommend them to an international student. purdue fort wayne maybe but even then it is still a tier down from WL

I also had this question! Like the other person who replied said I think its a mix of things. I think I was invited for being rural/LGBTQ? I don’t know but I’m glad to be able to check the school out more. Hope to see you there!

bawling
 in  r/ApplyingToCollege  20d ago

genuinely why is this crash out worthy. ur safety snubbed u (probably just assumed u werent gonna go and wanted to give the spot to someone who maybe would) but clearly ur application is fine and competitive or u wouldnt have gotten those tougher acceptances

What are you guys' reach schools?
 in  r/ApplyingToCollege  22d ago

Potential Student Questions
 in  r/Purdue  22d ago

Big 4 recruitment ez if you do well & put the work in. Most are for Indy & Chicago but elsewhere is definitely possible. I would on first glance consider Purdue and OSU’s career prospects about even but i dont know much about OSU.

Source: pretty much whole family is purdue accounting alumni who got big 4 jobs fresh out

Northeastern Rejection is kind of scary
 in  r/ApplyingToCollege  25d ago

your acceptance at one school (one that does quite a bit of playing with numbers at that) doesn’t have all that much to do with ur ability to get into other schools at all. assuming ur stats are at least alright

2

If a schools wants financial aid info am I accepted?
 in  r/ApplyingToCollege  25d ago

not sure about GW in specific but it likely just means your finaid decision needs more info from those docs and that process is usually almost entirely disconnected from admissions

1

how to not stress out?
 in  r/ApplyingToCollege  25d ago

its been helping me to think about how little what happens now is going to matter to me down the road when i have a higher level degree / career / etc and that at the end of the day i can achieve that future pretty much regardless of how my decisions play out

4

Is my application not good enough for top schools after northeastern waitlist?
 in  r/ApplyingToCollege  25d ago

don’t let one rejection get u down too much or make u think there’s no hope for other schools. every place looks for something a little different and there’s so so many factors out of your control that influences how ur application is looked at and the decision thats made. stay strong and i hope ur effort is rewarded with ur other schools

Northeastern Oakland?
 in  r/ApplyingToCollege  25d ago

neu admits a lot of extra students to these external campuses and programs so they can essentially “prove” themselves into securing a spot on main campus later on
