AIO My response to my mom disowning me because I'm gay?
 in  r/AmIOverreacting  14d ago

Your mom wished you suffering. You’re not overreacting. You are under reacting. Get yourself safe with your chosen family. Go no contact. She will hurt you until she understands that you are a kind, strong person.

From one gay person to another, I love you friend.

They aren’t protecting anything. They are centralizing power and challenging our rights.

The courts do not represent us. They are not elected and have consistently thrown our rights to the side.

Where are the "Kamala would be just as bad" bros at? Protest voters, how ya feelin????

The ongoing genocide of the Palestinians that began under the Biden administration. The one that nearly the whole rest of the world recognizes as such.

No one ever claimed Kamala would be just as bad. And, not voting for Kamala is not a “protest vote.”

Kamala and friends were actively carrying out a genocide. That is reason enough to withhold a vote even if you didn’t consider all her non-consequential milquetoast policy proposals.

And, I voted for Kamala.

It’s time to stop talking about Kamala and get organized. Stop being a chump and join a political organization that lets you fight for the world you want.

As Russian, Americans now experience what life has been in Russian for the last decade

I mean, shitty governments are exactly the people’s fault when we don’t claim our power beyond “attitude and belief” which does nothing and is not resistance.

I don’t think you’re paying very close attention then.

Pretty dumb to assume his popularity will mean he will be able to represent us given the real time coup we’re observing.

GenZ are pretty pro 2A

When have they offered affordable healthcare, affordable healthcare, or fought for wages or unions?

Like many years ago.

But, they constantly shit on their left caucus that wants all these things!!!

What we want is the socialists for real! And many of us are pro 2A in the DSA

Why Jasmine Crockett’s Latest Comments On DEI Hit Home: Rep. Crockett really struck a nerve — and revealed an uncomfortable reality about our workforce.

Or maybe building a meritocracy and not guaranteeing full employment in a system that enforces, at every turn, engaging with a privatized form of life is just bad.

Identity politics is a dead end. We must deal with systemic racism through solidarity between races and class warfare against our oppressors.

Wake Up, North Carolina – This Isn't About Politics, It's About Right and Wrong
 in  r/NorthCarolina  Feb 07 '25

Politics is about right and wrong. Not sure why we keep insisting it is some abstract thing.

I like many of your points. Now, get organized with your community and build collective power to assert what you think is right — that is the essence of politics.

How did the event work? What did it accomplish?

The rightful criticisms that this moment has not involved people in organization still stands firm.

If you want to win you just organize for power in an organization with permanence

The 50501 protest turnout for today. All 50 states plus DC protested!

Are we moving these folks into organizations where they can build collective power?

Protesting is good but not an end in itself.

We are fully member funded that is why we collect dues from our members.

Dues, AKA, not a charge for a service but a payment for building our organization.

This is my last comment to you.

Okay friend, obviously you know more about me and the organization I’m a part of than I do.

Have a nice day.

As I said in my very first comment to you we have dues waiver. It is not a COVID waiver. It is a dues waiver.

And, that’s fine. We aren’t like other organizations, other than the example I already named of a union which do collect dues. And, we aren’t a for-profit entity. We are a registered non-profit for now while we work to build ourselves into a political party.

And yeah, you are hostile while simultaneously knowing nothing and making assertions. It’s really frustrating to engage with.

Why don’t you ask a question? I’m happy to answer.

The word Democratic in our name refers to democracy as a philosophy and political act not the Democratic Party.

And I have no idea what you’re talking about with regard to an address.

You’re really just making things up and trolling. I’m happy to answer questions but will no longer be engaging with you against assertions

Have a nice day.

I am adamantly against the democrats. Why are you being so hostile? Ask a question instead of making assumptions.

Guess you’ve never heard of membership dues before but we aren’t selling a service or good so we aren’t “for profit” and we decide where the money goes and why collectively

Capitalism is the problem and we are a member-funded and member-run organization which allows us political independence.

It’s a sliding scale. You can pick whatever payment you want and there is a dues waiver if you don’t have that kind of money.

The solidarity dues are much like a union or a church. Our entire organization is only funded by members which gives us significant political independence unlike, say, the democrats who are beholden to individual donations from the wealthy and corporate donations from large corps.

Capitalism is not when a democratic organization collects dues.

Capitalism is the collection of profit from the labor of workers.
