75hz strobed vs 144hz for motion clarity?
 in  r/Monitors  Jun 11 '17

Yeah seems like the LG is the best deal. I figure the motion clarity isn't going to match the more than double real information the 144hz display would provide, but 75hz with strobing should still be a hell of a lot better than the blurry 60hz laptop screen I'm currently trying to game on.

75hz strobed vs 144hz for motion clarity?

I'm having a hard time choosing between the LG 24MP59G and Viewsonic XG2401. The XG2401 is the obvious choice for my main usage (TF2) but the 24MP59G is significantly cheaper in my country and does strobing at 75hz, which I figure should make it fairly competitive with the XG2401 in motion clarity, which is 144hz but cannot do strobing.

Is the Viewsonic worth the extra money if we're talking about just motion clarity? The LG is also IPS which means better image quality, so it seems like a much better deal to me.

The World's First 4K 144 Hz Refresh Rate Monitor by Asus

Even once the price is sorted out, there's still the lifespan issue to fix. No way I'm buying a monitor that deteriorates fast as current OLEDs.

Despite the good camera angles, I found Pacific Rim's combat scenes not really much more legible than Transformers due to all the visual noise. The ocean scene was especially bad with all the water splashing everywhere.

GAF Industry Insider: "Huge exclusive remake coming to Windows 10 and Xbox One. It's a third party game being funded by MS"

While I don't mind KOTOR's combat, I definitely would prefer it updated to something more modern for a remake and I think it would be too. A D&D style RPG (that isn't some underground kickstarter funded game like the new Torment) in the modern age would be a tough sell.

Replying "lol" to every post that criticizes UWP isn't effective shilling.

The location establishing shots in GoT look utterly awful. The CGI in that show is definitely noticeable.

It seems that it will make a halfway decent gross, but unless the sequels are actually good, I don't want them.

What movie series get better with each movie?

IMO 4th movie and onwards are terrible.

Fast 5 and 7 are serviceable action flicks. I wouldn't call them terrible.

You can call me a tinfoil hatter but this UWP thing fucking stinks to me and Microsoft are playing a very sinister long game. They are really trying to monopolize PC gaming since their Shitbox One flopped.

If I hate Ubisoft's bloated sandbox trash, what makes you think I would enjoy the same garbage made by CDPR?

TW2, however, is one of my favorite games.

They make sandbox trash that appeal to casual plebs with shit taste. Of course they sell a lot.

They make amazing games

Rofl. Ubisoft games have been nothing but formulaic copy pasted shovelware for the past 6 years.

HALO 2 Multiplayer is back on PC, join us and play today!
 in  r/Games  Jun 06 '16

I just don't get why they won't even budge on Halo 3. It's no longer a console seller and it would sell substantially on PC. I don't see how Microsoft could lose out by bringing it PC.

It's the only Halo game I even want, they can keep 4/5/6.
