It’s a safe assumption that’s what most of them are doing.

Focus on the lsat for now. You can score at least upper 160s if you hustle. I improved 13 points from my diagnostic

What are my chances? 2.8 GPA, 174 LSAT, CPA(2 years WE)

I don’t think they’ll hit 175 this year. It’ll be 174

You have a 100% chance of getting into at least one T50

How accurate is LSD? How many applicants are not on LSD?
 in  r/lawschooladmissions  2d ago

This is too open ended of a question but I will try to answer. I think lsd.law is one of the best resources we have as applicants with some caveats.

  1. It is biased towards T14 and other highly ranked schools, so for many schools there is little data

  2. There is less data for applicants like super splitters/reverse splitters

  3. I could imagine that it is biased towards positive outcomes. This is a guess, but I could see how someone who is not proud of their outcomes could a. not finish documenting their cycle, b. delete their account, and c. might not create an account in the first place because they intuitively know they have a weak application for their target schools.

  4. We are all unique applicants and just because school A denied 100% of the people with your stats in the past does not mean they will deny you. There are always exceptions and I've seen crazy outlier outcomes.

  5. Anyone can sign up and submit data, so there can be trolls. I think this is way way overstated by people to discount the data on lsd, but it does mean you should take outlier outcomes with a grain of salt.

I will also say that lsd.law was incredibly helpful for me when I started doing research on applications. I didn't know what would be possible with my low gpa, and several great people with great profiles showed me that more was possible than I thought. I think it's awesome

Don’t know if you’ll read this but I just want to say that your Olympic trials 10k to hit the standard and make the team was one of my favorite moments following this sport. You and Galen were an inspiration to watch. To have a question I guess, what did that feel like and what did that race mean to you?

It is better in conjunction with PSLF, but it is still substantial on its own.

Is “t20” actually a meaningful category worth leaving your preferred region for?

Wash U can get you to New York. I don’t think it will be too much trouble either. Maybe just above median? I think the Midwest placement from Wash U is largely self selection

Don’t retake just reapply if you don’t get a good offer. Applying late is the problem here

Is “t20” actually a meaningful category worth leaving your preferred region for?
 in  r/lawschooladmissions  6d ago

I think it would help if you’re more specific. Like if you really wanted to practice in California and your choices were Irvine for some money or Minnesota for free, then Irvine is probably what you would want to choose. But not every T20 is the same

Cycle Recap (help me decide please this is hard)
 in  r/lawschooladmissions  7d ago

BC has better big law outcomes but primarily in Boston. NYC is possible but Boston is more likely, so either way you'll be living up north for awhile. UGA won't have the same big law placement, although there are several sub-market paying firms in Atlanta. Weather will be a lot better. You'll be driving a lot more. Cost of living will be a lot lower. It's a very different lifestyle with big pros and big cons (the driving imo).
