"Drama" at work because a dude chose the "younger" girl

I can't actually emphasize how retarted this is. I would not blame you if you didn't believe me but this is for real

There's this dude who started at my company about 4 months ago. He was 24 when he started, turned 25 a month ago. He's pretty good looking, albeit a little shy, and i guess that made him the perfect target for the women to try and set him up with their friends.

This one girl who's manager of marketing, 35, has been trying to set him up with her friend, 33, for a solid two months. She brought her to a company get together once just to introduce them to each other. He's been telling them he's not interested, and he told me and another girl privately it's because of the age difference but he's too afraid it'll offend them. Which is stupid like she's almost a decade older than him no shit most guys aren't gonna rock with that.

There's another girl who's an intern. She's 22 and after hearing about his reasoning, she set up a date between him and a friend of hers, also 22. That was a month ago and they're still seeing each other. He showed me a picture of them on a date and they seem happy. And obviously, they're similar age.

Idk how but this past week the marketing chick found out about them and she's been spreading a "rumor" that he only chose her because her friend was older. That's not a rumor, that's accurate and 100% valid. Why would a 25 year old choose someone a decade older vs around his age? This chick has somehow turned a handful of the women in the office against him because I guess rejecting a woman for her age is one of the 7 deadly sins. One woman, legal assistant 29, threw his lunch away. Another, graphic designer 27, sent him a video titled "how I escaped the manophere" and told him he might need it. All this because he chose the age appropriate partner

Luckily, one of the older women in the office reported this behavior to the EVP and he told the guy, myself, and the intern that he's in the process of interviewing people to replace those three women who've been essentially bullying him.

What is going on in America

Why the fuck would you want to work a minimum wage factory job?

Every poor person I grew up with dreamed about one day having a comfortable middle class email job. Nobody wanted to destroy their bodies for $17 an hour and our parents constantly reminded us to escape their own fates as soon as possible. Nobody cared about larping as a based masculine blue collar assembly line worker. All of these upper middle class rightoids are dooming an entire generation to the miserable toil their fathers warned them about. These people are delusional.

racist observations working at a national pizza chain

โ€ข Upvotes

young white people: overly apologetic, sometimes so concerned with keeping my job easy that they end up making it more difficult lmao just order what you want bro

old white people: genuinely believe the person at the register is singularly responsible for price hikes, coupon expirations, etc. would sooner pay double than learn out how to use the app/website for a discount (i hear "we're not computer people" daily, sometimes hourly)

latinos: always want pineapple and/or jalapenos, seemingly only carry 100 dollar bills, often speak so little english that i question how they even function living here, like just asking if they want thin crust or normal crust is already an impenetrable roadblock and someone has to whip out google translate on their phone for us to continue

black people: want the cheapest/most-discounted things but also the most prone to accusing us of skimping on toppings etc. every time i've had someone being unreasonably germophobic (expecting glove changes after each ingredient is my favorite example) it's been a black person. stare over the counter at us making the pizza as if we're gonna drop a deuce on it if they look away for even a moment. very paranoid about being overcharged

asians: tend to order the weirdest flavor combinations, like a whole combination pizza but add pineapple and feta and bbq sauce and ranch and

dipped my toes back into the fitness side of the internet and its even worse than before

the amount of steroid use and body dysmorphia has skyrocketed with the rise of social media and influencers and shit to the point where 2011 /fit/ guys look like buddhist monks, i legitimately think telling a misguided guy in his 20s to start lifting is bad advice now that i have a bit more perspective, you really do have to play a sport or get some sort of hobbie instead of just doing starting strength at 24 years old in the hopes that a 405 pound deadlift will let you make eye contact with a woman

Working costumer service has made me racist

I have been working at a call center for six months and I have become secretly racist. Yeah yeah minorities deserve rights whatever but actually I also hate white people. Granted, if my job wasn't telling them "your account is suspended, don't come back" or "your money is gonna be released next month due to new policies" maybe they'd treat me differently and wouldn't yell at me. I can already tell when a black person or an Indian is gonna get rowdy, or when a second-gen Latino is gonna yell at me. The worst are the people from the south who speak the worst English known to man and have the audacity to ask for an American supervisor or threaten to sue over 25 dollars. Their delusion almost makes me laugh. On second thought, maybe liberal minorities are the worst; the call starts okay but the minute they owe money they start making patronizing comments towards filipinos or other known-for-having-call-centers nationalities. Anyway, I hate this job and I am quitting in two weeks so I'm happy I'm not gonna have the Ahmeds of the world yelling at me. This has taken a huge toll on my mental health and every morning 8 think about killing myself. Also fuck the British too, they sound regarded half the time.

sick of the political posts

Yeah, MAGA is regarded and these tariffs are regarded but the fact that 80% of rsp's front page has become boilerplate political slop is getting to me. If I wanted to be force fed this shit I'd go to literally any other subreddit on the site. This all feels greasy and unbecoming. please go back to posting shots from a pretentious French movie or whatever

So I said โ€œJD Vance?โ€œ and he goes โ€œNo! That millionaire guy!โ€ He genuinely thought Musk was the VP and I think thatโ€™s sad and hilarious.

seeing old people be horny is blackpilling

there's something incredibly ghastly about witnessing the perversions of old people. I'm not trying to make the case that once you cross a certain age threshold you should be in some like, buddhist state of complete absolution from desire, but it's rough to see belichick-esque age gaps or multi-decade marriages fragment due to infidelity. does that animal part of your brain never turn off? are people in long-term relationships just coping and repressing? it's sad, man. I don't wanna have to deal with this all my life and it sucks to see old men who never evolve past teenage pussy-getting impulses. it actually upsets me

My favourite middle school teacher killed his wife

Since we're on the topic of betrayal by teachers. This happened a couple of years ago, years after I graduated. My friend texts me a link and I open it half asleep and see his face on the Washington Post. They were apparently on vacation in her hometown.

He taught social studies and his wife taught me French. They seemed like such a happy couple. She was an absolute sweetheart and no student wanted to upset her. He was by far one of the best teachers I've ever had. One of those teachers who cared about his students thinking for themselves and was always open to having class discussions and debates. Genuinely changed how I viewed the world and made me question fundamental beliefs I was brought up to have at such a young age.

If you had asked me before the news broke which teacher had the most influence on me, it would've been him no question. It feels disingenuous to change that answer now. He ultimately put me on the path of abandoning my belief in god as a kid in a deeply religious society. I've been putting off any reflection on that fact in light of his actions.

The details of the crime are so gruesome I can't process that it actually happened.

Humans are a miserable lot.
