Target can’t get its footing after DEI program demise and 40 day boycott
 in  r/TwinCities  5d ago

So true, you’re right it is sad, and I’m sorry I didn’t come off very sympathetic to those people and their families, times are hard enough, especially for employees living paycheck to paycheck, and I can’t fathom the emotional or financial weight having the rug pulled out like that by my employer I thought represented my team and similar values.

Target can’t get its footing after DEI program demise and 40 day boycott
 in  r/TwinCities  5d ago

It’s a corporation, a business is not a leader or person with opinions- it was a (unwise) corporate business decision, made by a board of faceless executives that need to maximize profit for investors- not a reflection of the community that lives here, and that’s why it’s so upsetting to locals that thought they were what they said at face value. Target is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, picking and choosing selective positive elements (queer joy, black and female creators and makers) of the local market that it thinks it is going to profit from, not to reflect the actual community (to increase profits among these groups), and when it didn’t serve their corporate interests, our community’s values were no longer needed by them to uphold their facade of being a “good-guy” corporation, they just need to keep their asses in line with dear leader’s wishes.

PSA for anyone planning an Amtrak trip on the Borealis line — you'll be taking a bus now!
 in  r/TwinCities  12d ago

Once on the coast a train in front of ours derailed and Amtrak had to put us on buses for a portion of the trip, it was fine just a big charter bus, it was also the middle of the night so slept through most of it. If you’re going for the experience and views, it’s not the same you’ll likely just gonna be on the interstate with traffic but it’ll get you there. I think I had some free meals or perks for the inconvenience too so check that out.

What would you like to see improved in Minneapolis Parks?
 in  r/Minneapolis  Mar 02 '25

Seriously, this city is so hung up on removing and inconveniencing displaced people that they can’t see the the forest from the trees. They want to draw people in to parks, but can’t handle basic amenities and then wonder why people don’t spend more time outdoors- well maybe it’s time they realize how not allowing folks to use the resources we are paying taxes for is fucking unacceptable.

how do you get your fruit intake?
 in  r/ARFID  Feb 06 '25

Juice! Maybe you can access a juicer or play around with creating your own juice combo of the fruit you do like. I know the sugar content on the labels of things can be overwhelming, but if you’re pressing your own ingredients, it’ll feel a lot more natural and taste better.

Was anyone watching the KSTP sports segment around 6:50pm, when Joe Schmit was commenting on MN Twins spending and said (paraphrasing) "Maybe they need Elon Musk to come in and cut costs" ?
 in  r/TwinCities  Feb 06 '25

Maybe someday you will feel shame for associating with them, those parents have clearly done a shit job and then released their trash onto society, until then I leave you with this little ditty “You and your racist friend” -They might be giants *edit

Well, when I search “mystery gang racist picture” it’s the first hit! I also knew them for years, and have NEVER once had a pleasant experience with any of them.

You have fingers, just search it here on reddit, but my bad it was 2012 not 2010. I’ll provide receipts, but I’m not doxxing or posting anything new, it’s already out there.

I need to stop eating sugar because I'm showing signs of high blood sugar. I think I've reached the end for me.
 in  r/ARFID  Jan 29 '25

I’ve had luck with Soylent, lots of different flavors, multi flavor packs so you can try each one out before you get a whole case that you may dislike. I’ll DM you a referral code, or if you sign up on the website your first order is 25% off. My go-tos are vanilla, strawberry and chai, but the chai has caffeine so be aware of that :)

Sick, kid you’re alright (and enjoy your knees while you can!) ModFam is one of my partner’s comfort shows and I’m less familiar with the episodes so I’ll look out for him in the rewatch, thanks!

Darlin, you’ve got homework, search “Mr. Show”.

Edit: Sorry, you may actually be a young person so not trying to condescend, but David Cross is very famous and you’re missing some good content out there.

Bird flu cases surging in southern Minnesota, DNR says
 in  r/minnesota  Jan 12 '25

I’m no expert, and I realize its already disposed of, but you may want to consider taking a picture and informing your local DNR chapter for them to be aware and keep record of your data. Good lookin out for the pups!

Ler’s house was destroyed in the LA fires

I can’t deny I’m interested to hear what this all inspires, but it’s feeling more and more like Karma works on a geologic timescale.

Is everyone ok? Does all the of the CBB gang live in LA?
 in  r/Earwolf  Jan 10 '25

Seriously sickening. These LA folks are resilient af, I think that was the tone of PFT’s story, a city full of passionate creatives that all chose their stories and paths to be there. I lost my apartment to a fire in the past, unfortunately caused my a neighbor falling asleep while I wasn’t home, but I can’t fathom having to be aware and just leave immediately or be told that you will come home to your cherished memories, but instead just have to watch and wait.. fuck. My friends’ living out there attitudes have been so calm and positive from what I’ve seen from them quickly checking in, but just wow. Even from a distance, I can’t shake the feeling of helplessness and knowing that even the wealthier cities aren’t going to be systematically saved from climate catastrophe. We’re all “cooked”.

Good but affordable donuts
 in  r/TwinCities  Jan 10 '25

The current owner has been running it into the ground. Quality is down and products are not made in house anymore, plus much smaller selection. They’re encompassed in the Wuollet fiasco and shit owner’s choice to run them like a chain and close locations
